I know that Kirby Smart, Glen Schumann, and Dan Lanning are working very hard to try to sign him.

They pretty much got him, already got his highly ranked DL teammate committed.

Just go watch them vs The Woodlands a good team out the Houston area, the D-linemen and Williams are out of position often and just use pure athleticism to make the few plays they do get. 99 (UGA commit) rarely gets pressure on the QB and the LB stays missing tackles. That's not 5 star and high 4 star type of results.

Rangy linebacker with elite speed that makes him a near prototype at the position. Measured in at around 6-foot-2, 210 pounds prior to his senior season. Added very good weight as a junior. Owns plus length for the position with arms a shad under 33 inches. The fastest top linebacker in the combine setting in 2024. Ran an absurd electronically-timed 4.44 40-yard dash, 4.39 short shuttle and jumped a 9-foot-10 broad jump at the UC Report's Houston camp. Backed that up on the track with a stellar 11.01 second mark in the 100 meters. Transfers that high-end athleticism over to the field. Originally a safety, he to linebacker full-time as a junior and had a very productive season, notching 105 tackles, 18 tackles for loss and 8.5 sacks. Lines up as a mike backer for his high school. Shows the ability to stack and shed incoming blockers. Excels bringing down ball players from sideline to sideline and in the backfield. Flashes an elite first step and ability to close. Draws on his experience as a safety to aid in coverage and playing in space. Will need to continue adding mass and strength. A strong tackler in his first year as a linebacker but can improve the pop in his hands and overall play strength. Flashes considerable upside given his high-end combination of athleticism, length and range.

From On3. Idk sounds pretty good to me. Any linebacker with his size and speed will be rated extremely high.

I know Jonah-ajonye is relatively new to football (like a year or two playing) so it wouldn’t be surprising if he was a little behind.

You can coach this up.

It's pretty damn hard to improve to that level. Most of these players are ranked on potential instead of what they've already done. Same thing with the NFL draft.

I don't know why people would down vote this. You answered a question.

I get it. Tons of trolls on the Rant, but this doesn't seem to be one. This board s a non troll board, but it does not have to be an echo chamber, either. Honest opinions are always (or should be) welcome. I would hope we could give an honest opinion on any other player, too.

I do love all football I'm a bit of a junkie, especially louisiana and Texas high school football. I've seen all major recruits.

If that all that matters, I know a running back from east TX that ran 10.8 at 220 last year as a sophomore and he's top 100 just on on3 no where else, not 5 star and he's a better overall football player

The great news is this….in 4 years you will be proven right or wrong.

I know which side of the bet I would take now, but we will see. Doubt we will be able to find this thread 4 years from now though - and by then no one will care.

The only thing KIRBY needs to worry about is keeping them boys under 100 mph in them scatpacks and hellcats.

The only appreciable difference between Athens, Tuscaloosa and Baton Rouge with student athletes and speeding is the police in Athens aren’t in the back pockets of the athletics dept and head coach.

To think UGA football players are the only ones with sports cars speeding is to suspend disbelief.
