They aren’t going to fire him January 1 and then have to scramble to take a lesser coach or interim. If they fire him it will be right after the season. He would have to pull a Mike Price or something, which he is not going to do.

Not firing boom after this past season got him 2 more seasons...his buyout only drops to 13.1 after next year. We are tied to him fr at least 2 more years, hence the Bobo 2 year deal.

I just saw an article the other day where his buyout dropped 3.5 mil after the end of the year.

Still a little confused why Burch has yet to sign. If there’s no chance they’re firing Muschamp then they’re for sure not gonna fire the position coach that landed Burch this year and Pickens last. I don’t get it.

new buyout

quote:

Now if Muschamp is fired after the 2020 season, he will be owed $13.2 million, plus the prorated amount. He’s wagering that USC will be much better in 2020, which could result in another reworked contract and raised salary.

’m not trolling just honestly asking bud - Why hasn’t he signed? It does seem a bit odd.

I read that his teammates are all signing on the same day to their respective programs. Could be just hearsay bc I didn't see a link. Sounds feasible though.

Yeah sure his buyout is reduced but who do you hire if you fire him? You basically have to give it to Bobo for a year or a John L Smith type deal. It would be a total cluster to fire him Jan 1.

Who knows why the kid didn’t sign. It’s all just speculation on our part. IMO he sticks with Carolina and signs but only one man knows and that’s Steve. And he either got busted by his boss for spending 24/7 on Burch or has went missing

Lot of places of that, everyone sign at one time, that’s a good possibility

Yeah, pretty sure they're all signing together. Seems to be how Hammond usually does it.

Lot of schools do that now. School that I am a principal at now had seven kids sign during the early period for spring sports. All small schools. Had little thing set up in auditorium, then cupcakes and drinks for them afterwards. Kids got in to invite their friends out of class and stuff. Not a bad deal.

Are they waiting until February to sign together then?

Yes, it was just so common for D1 signees to have a signing day ceremony yesterday and not sign. Pfftt.

Honest question. Exactly what do you think that means....him not signing? Are you assuming he would sign with LSU?

Dude. You lost a recruit. Move on. Congratulate SC and stop acting like a scorned woman.

For those who don’t know about this (I’m sure some of you do) At Hammond you cannot graduate early. So Burch, and Huntley want to throw a big party at school with their teammates and sign their letters together. Everyone take a deep breath. They’re going to be Gamecocks.

If he was still around I would've. Seems he disappeared after Burch announced and everyone saw he was right all along.

He had to go back to work. He spent his vacation on it for us. But hey looks like he was right.

Shame he isn't around. There's a lot of crow that needs to be eaten.

Personally? I thought he was full of crap, too. But I kept my mouth shut. I've had crow before, and I can assure you....it does not taste like chicken.
