its not the fact that he ended up at 24. i only used owens earlier because he made the single biggest jump out of anyone in their top 32. he had a great week and he deserved the bump. i just find it legit bizarre that 247 literally singled kenyon out for how well he played all week in orlando at the UA game.....and they may bump him one or two spots. it just legitimately doesnt make sense and its only further proof that 247 ranks AA players higher than UA players for the obvious reason, just like ESPN does the other way around

That’s entirely fair. I don’t feel like it’s as egregious as ESPN, but since they’ve started going to the Army game the last three seasons or so it’s been more noticeable.

I don't know about that. Dominick Blaylock dropped a couple spots and lost his fifth star despite balling out all week at the AA game. There's no reason for it.

Texas still has a higher star average. Texas hands down has a better lb class.

247 playing games with stars again for the sips. Tyler Owens rises more than 600 spots to 5* status, despite Texas being his only decent offer. Then let us look at the loser Hookfin. He's risen over 1000 spots in roughly the same time, choosing between the powers of Texas and almighty Baylor. Jared Wiley, who the sips stole from mighty KSU gets bumped almost 600 spots on the very last day. Washington will go from 3* to 4* status, LB Gbenda who TCU didn't even want will suddenly get a bump as well. You can go and look at half of their "lower-ranked" players to see the same kind of movement ... it is truly eye-opening

Their only legitimate ratings bump is Whittington, who wasn't an addition after swing and miss on everyone decent ... early commitment. But you cannot expect more when the ratings are run and influenced by at least three well-known sips - and 247 is in Texas back pocket.

Somehow, Texas went from #9 to #5 in one day on the composite, without adding a single player. All while these "star" players have no legitimate offers (except Whittington), and are in fact leftovers after they lost out on the best players ...

We see it every year to some extent. Last year, Texas had a legitimately great DB class, so it wasn't as obvious. This year, it's like a magic trick ...

You should really look at the "offer lists" at this point, which is how I do it. This supposed high-ceiling athlete is all that - potential. Unless they commit to Texas, then they deserve a massive ratings bump, because ... Texas

It's a joke

It's called the Burton/Ketchum effect.

Player commits to t.u. - gains 1-2 stars.

Player offered by t.u. and commits to A&M - loses a star.

Yes, we all know it. Once again, offer lists matter. Owens was apparently a "hidden" talent playing in little bitty school in Plano! I wasn't aware Plano had any little schools. It's pretty fun to watch the 247 mods goal tend that decision.

Sips class is all smoke and mirrors. I think they legitimately got a couple of WR's, but the rest is pretty sub-standard

The media wants Texas back and will do whatever they can do to ensure that. As for a&m they shouldn't be worried about what Texas does they just need to win in their own conference.

This has very little to do with what they are doing and everything to do with their bias deliberately devaluing our signees for no legitimate reason.

Quite a bit of your early signers had better junior seasons than senior seasons. Hence why they fell down the board. That can't be disputed.

And every one of them shined during the all star games, yet only 2 of them went up in ratings.

So how do you explain LSU dropping from 4th to SEVENTH and t.u. going from 8th to FIFTH?

Look, we cannot all be Herman finding a bunch of diamonds in the rough, Instead we had to settle for the known quantities, and we are fighting it out with Bama, LSU, and such instead of powerhouses such as KSU and BU. We all know what is occurring, because it happens pretty much EVERY year. This is just the first time it has effected LSU - they aren't familiar

It is known as the "Texas bump". A bunch of second-rate players artificially inflated to ensure Texas has a good class. If Owens is that great, somebody decent besides Texas would have offered him - just for example

A bunch of meh ...

They're LB class is better than what yall brought in. Spiller and Brown is a wash. They got the better QB. They got the better D-Line overall. Demarvin Leal is only one guy. So by my count that beat yall in 3 position groups to yalls 2...unless you wanna count ST which would be the Aggie thing to do to try and even it up with their big brother

OL: A&M
DB: A&M
DL: Leal, Jones, Mowry, Hunter (and maybe Ellison if he makes grades). Advantage A&M
TE: A&M

Oh I think it is funny. Owens is the same 3* player he's always been - his athleticism is great, but his highlights are garbage. Hookfin is the same 270lb project he has been as well. Most of the other idiots rising in their rankings I've personally never heard of, and neither had anyone until Herman "found" them.

Hey, whatever works. The truth will out itself on the field, where the Texas recruits have notoriously fallen short.

Baylor Cupp is hardly better than Liebrock lol

QB Texas
RB it's a wash
WR Texas
TE Wash
OL A&M
DL Texas... I've seen rumblings where Mowry is flaky as well.
LB Texas
DB A&M

It doesn’t seem like a laughing matter, you seem rather bothered. As if it’s eating you up inside.

Texas got the better QB? The one that cannot hit the broadside of a barn when passing the ball?

The fact is Texas lost almost every single H2H with A&M this year, and had to go elsewhere after the elite talent in Texas was divided between A&M, OU, and LSU, Their DL and OL are pretty meh, as usual
