Not a slam dunk get but it's a depth play. Needed four or five offensive lineman this class. Had committed to Arkansas originally.

JUCO depth is needed to fix the current roster. We have no offensive line depth. We have a stud OT recruit, but he will take time to develop. Not a splash, but makes sense. End of the class we will see how many top tier battles he can win. We need linebackers and CB's as well. Will probably fill class with a few more guys like these to get depth.

I heard from someone on here Dean and Emory are announcing together?

Florida is the only major player they have been CB'd too. So seems like a good sign.

Emory is announcing at a 680 the Fan Signing event here in Atlanta... also has Salyer and Hill and other players at it... hadn't heard Dean mentioned, but maybe there? JK... he's on the list: LINK

Wouldn't read too much into the same location (different times)... but recent CBs probably give some indication. His recruitment has been one of the weirdest I can recall... there were many who thought he was a silent to UGA, then committed to Tennessee... then seems like couldn't find a landing spot. No clue what the issue was... not sure if he's one of the safety guys who thinks he's a corner?

I'm going to try to be there for Emory Jones announcement to periscope it

Dean and Jones are both supposed to commit there at 1:45 and 11:30, respectively.

Both are expected to pick Florida. I think Dean is being recruited as a safety

A bunch of ATL area guys are signing at the same event. It isn't going to be Dean and Jones in a room by themselves.

No chance he plays safety at this level.

We got Warren from Tenn, who was his recruiter. So I think that's how we ended up leading for Dean. He is a weird commit I agree. Kid has talent, but in Grantham's defense I don't see him being a safety at all. You know his D better than I, but thought he liked run stuffing safeties over coverage safeties.

Emory didn't get a LOI from Ohio State. So it's basically between Alabama, FSU, and UF now. It's still not a sure thing, just most likely he comes to UF.

Ah didn't know it was a large event. Had just read it on the recruiting forum.

Alabama announced they were moving on a few days ago. It's between FSU who has no OC and no QB coach and Florida, a QB Coach who was Recruited by Mullen as a player and Mullen.

It would probably be the most devestating loss of a recruit since Corral flipped to a school on probation if a QB picked a school that has no OC nor QB Coach over us.

It be more damaging to me.Corral it seems we didn't want that much. Mullen seemed to be just keeping because he was already here. Made no strong efforts for him. Had Jones coming to same week Corral was coming.

Jones is what Mullen hedged his bets on. It cost him Corral. If he loses it, it's a big, big double blow.

Yeah... Grantham definitely likes Safeties who can play well in run support. I just think Dean doesn't have the best coverage skills for a CB... Pretty sure that was the hangup on adding him to the class at UGA? Tough to recall at this point though. He's a good athlete... gotta find the right spot for him, but I think he can contribute somewhere.
