You may want to put Class of 2018 in there somewhere.

Right on, he'd probably be #1 for 2017 too though. I believe he was the top performing DL at The Opening this year.

Not sure how anyone could be above Trevor Lawrence right now. From the outside looking in- he looks head and shoulders above everyone else.

TL is the composite #1, ESPN is trash. His announcement could be coming down any day, Clemson is in the race more than folks think but in the end I think he becomes a DAWG. I see they have Mascoll at #2, UGA looks to be in the drivers seat there also.

They're not always the most plugged in, but sometimes they're ahead of the pack in evaluating players. They had Richard Lecounte in the top 10 for this class while most had him in the 50's/60's... I think it might have been a bit high, but they were closer to right than the rest IMO, and that's been reflected in the post Opening updates. Ultimately, using the composite is a great way to balance individual opinions...
Also, IIRC ESPN generally doesn't typically have a QB as the #1 in their 300... maybe forgetting some though
I think for XT, it will likely come down to the instate schools... but who knows.

TL received a CB to Clemson from a Tenn. insider yesterday, the longer this plays out the better Clemson feels I imagine.

Answered on our own recruiting thread... not a CB I would give much attention to. 57% accuracy rate or so... I too can flip a coin. Feels like a guy trying to say he was the first to CB to Clemson (since there are no others) were he to pick them. I think they're in it for sure, but that CB doesn't mean an awful lot if we're to believe TL isn't taking interviews until he announces.
