Emory Jones is at UF for two nights.

Stayed last night, and decided to skip going to FSU and stay at UF one more night. Said he would announce Wednesday while at UF.
All Crystal balls are falling to UF.
Looks like this is likely the reason Corral flipped. Seems Mullen had a plan for a different Qb.
Would be a huge get. Hope it happens. Corral is a great player, but Jones makes more sense for Mullen. Though missing on him would be a huge loss.

Damn that was a risky play though. THat being said, does Franks transfer?

If we get Jones, Ill help him pack

Seriously, he's not really a fit ala Corral for Mullens offense.

Lol, well played.
Not sure Frank's Fits in any teams offense, the guy sucks.
Saw Jones on ESPN a game this year, got alot of athletic ability, need refinement and polish, but a better fit for Mullen than Corral or Franks. Jones looks faster than Dax or Fitzgerald

Some are saying Jones is overated as well. Maybe needs some time in a system before becoming the starter but at UF could be thrust in early like Franks and struggle.
Franks was a high 4 star....Crazy how far his stock has fallen.
I know Jones has dropped a lot on 247 rankings. He's actually way behind where Franks ended up being ranked.

Franks could still be an okay QB. We had the worst QB coaching in the conference. For eight years really. It's been mind blowing how many good QB's have looked bad at UF.
Brantley - Five star pro style. He actually looked good in 2011 under Weis before injured. People forget he was doing quite well, especially in the Bama game before injury.
Treon Harris - 4 star QB never got developed
Jac Brissett - Now a starter in the NFL. Yet was on the bench at UF.
Jeff Drisky- Left UF, set school records at next school and got drafted. Shocking. Another poorly coached five star.
Will Grier. Got forced out..because Mac is a Tool.
Newton - Five star, let go after scandals. Future Heisman winner.
UF hasn't had an issue of having no good QB's. We have had the issue of having terrible coaching. That is a long list of VERY good talent, that was under used by bad coaches.
Sad..So I won't give up on Franks. Let's see if he can improve under Mullen, who has proven himself a strong QB developer.

Mullen likely starts with Trask or Zaire next year I'd assume. Let Jones develop more.
But if Jones shows good signs, then I wouldn't see why you don't start him. He is a perfect mold for what Mullen uses. Add in UF has a VERY strong running back group next year. Scarlett may be returning hasn't gotten an agent. Davis averaged 7 YPC before injury in six games, Lemons is a good third back. So we can use the run game to help Jones along similar to what UGA did(though obviously not as well their backs are insane). Let him run more and throw only when needed.

That's best case scenario. Jones is an athlete...no doubt about it but his stock took a hit this year. I think if you give him time he's going to be a good one. Hell of a scoop considering you had to beat OSU and Bama for him.

Really unfortunate. UF has never lacked talent at the position that's for sure. I know Mullen likes a dual threat. If you can get a guy like Fitzgerald I think you guys will be happy. Mullen usually finds his guys.

I think thats the Nuss effect. He is a horrible OC

Thats what im thinking, if he does start we'd be very run heavy to ease him in, give him some easy passes off of PA ect.

Agreed. Zaire may actually fit the mold next year okay for us if we miss on Jones here. Trask is a wild card. Either way none on the roster are likely guys good enough to win the SEC. So it's on getting that guy in. Jones took a hit, but the pure talent is there.
My recruiting rule is simple.
Did Saban or Meyer offer him? Good..then get him

I thought his from his tape he was underated. I thought he would end up being better than Franks. Time will tell. I think Zaire should start next season. He's got some wiggle to him and a good arm.

Stop with the Trask talk. He's a clipboard holder at best.

Possibly. We will know next year. Trask talk is only about his size. Fits what Mullen's usual QB looks like.

Lord knows y'all need this bad. Your 2018 class looks like complete shite as of now.

Its far from over, tough with the EE trying to recruit last min and assemble a staff at the same time.
I think we ll be ok.

Great fit for UF. Congrats.

He can't run. That's like saying Tom Brady fits his system. He ran for 6 yards in his entire HS career. Smh.it likes you don't know what system Mullen runs

TJ, you don't know dick about Trask. Even his HC said that he was a very good player who just didn't fit his offense (but still participated in the spread) and that he would have started him if his other QB wasn't so electric with the ball.
Brian Johnson has connections to him, too, and he easily fits the power spread. He is a very underrated quarterback, better than Franks (which isn't saying much) who didn't really have a chance (even in the spring game) because his surgery/injury.
He has more of a shot than Franks at this point, that's for sure.
