It's all subjective. One evaluator says 3*, one says 4*, one doesn't even bother to look at a tape. That's why recruiting rankings are not the be-all, end-all.

Correct, but we should average above Vanderbilt and many others no matter the service.

Why are you so concerned with "stealing" someone. We kept who we had. We signed Hines from TX who could very well start as a freshman. D Wise is from TX and looks like a beast to me (i think he should be a 4*). We got Taiwan Johnson, who grew up like an hour from A&M, that scout thinks is a 4*.

Texas kids aren't our therefore we must pull them from Texas. We have a better shot than ever now TAMU is back on our hip.

You need to learn to trust Bobby Petrino. If you don't, fine. But be prepared to suggest someone that you think could do better.

I trust Bobby considering he is 21-5 over 2 years with a BCS game. However, I want that SEC ring and after sitting in Tuscaloosa this past year we need studs from across the nation if Arkansas produces a down year with in-state talent.

I understand it isn't built over night. However, going on year 5 with what we accomplished this year I expected better recruiting results across the board.

I never thought we'd lose top WR's with this offense. But yet again, I want Defense because with Bobby I'm not worried about our Offense.

I can hardly understand the Twitters, but is Bo Mattingly saying Seth Jacobs will announce at 8:30?

I think that's right. Supposedly 6:30 pacific.

But he mentioned guys that could help next year on defense and didn't say anything about Otha, but mentioned AJ Turner. Turner needs to gain a lot of weight...

2009 best class ever by Petrino.

LOL. Those highly rated classes sure has helped Tennessee, Florida, South Carolina, OU, UCLA, and Miami. Those teams sure have been juggernauts as of late.

Exactly.....Petrino's first class was "re ranked" after the 2010 as a top 5 class and the 2011 class just was " re ranked" a top 10 class..

Not worried at all. Petrino has shown right there he knows what he is doing.

Yes, my point is to win the SEC we need a better class or more focus on defense and less on offense across the board.

I'm not knocking his skills in evaluating talent, I think they are very good and his record proves it.

Those highly rated classes won every one of those teams national championships minus UCLA and USC.

We are doing much better but still have a long mountain to climb.

so why exactly are you complaining? some of our best recruits are on defense (otha peters, aj turner, will hines, austin flynn, etc)

You're basing recruiting success on what happens in February and not what happens for the next 3-5 years. It's still too early.

Bobby Petrino = almost $4MM/yr
recruit "experts" = $30k/yr

Bobby Petrino = Arkansas back to respectability
"experts" = Petrino's a job hopper

Will we ever win the SEC recruiting at this level? I don't know. But we've been damn close the last 2 years. To me, it's a waiting game. As close as we've been, all we have to do is keep on grinding. Sooner or later, LSU/Bama will slip up and we'll capitalize.

Yes, I'm happy about that but I want more.

It's simple.. relate it like this... We have a history of losing the Big game and we seem to be building a History of losing Big recruits.

At least we are swinging the bat to sign stud players but I thought by year 5 we would have signed at least one 5 star from out of state and that hasn't happened yet.

So list all the college teams this year that are remotely close to Bama's or LSU's. If you don’t think Petrino is trying to get the best players, ON BOTH SIDES OF THE DAMN BALL, then you are just ignorant.

No team was close to Bama and LSU’s defensive talent this year but the gap is closing and the Hogs will prove that out in 2012.

We have to show we are a consistent program. It took a couple of rough years that we all expected then we put put together a 10 win season and a 11 win season back to back. Another 10 win season looks like a great possibility this year as well.

Keep winning and they will come in floods.

No.. I'm basing it off we aren't winning recruiting Battles against Alabama, LSU, Texas A&M, OU, Tennessee (finally we got 1) who border our states. Kids came to Tennessee from California on the regular and were 5 star recruits.

I expected to do that because Tennessee did it before us with the same circumstances.

I look at the kids offer list more than the stars. I'm tired of losing the kids with massive offer lists even if they are 3 stars.

We are much improved over Nutt however still have a ways to go.

This kid is going to be a crowd favorite from Day 1 on the Hill.

Ascolese11 vin ascolese
so I herd that little statement "I've signed with Arkansas..and I'm looking forward to hitting those who didn't.” is almost a famous quote

On this I agree with you. If we are able to stay in the top third of the SEC with lower rated recruiting classes, any upgrades should equate to greater success. Especially on defense, where hopefully we will start closing the gap on Bama and LSU.

Of course he is trying but we lose more big recruits than we sign, why?

They are now visiting Fayetteville and all seem to enjoy it but we can't sign them from out of state like Tennessee could, why?
