I'm mad we whiffed on on 5, 4*stars while having #5 ranked team, pro-style offense and #1 offense in the SEC.

Vanderbilt, really?

I will say some of the defensive recruits made me smile. The offense side of the ball which is our best was rather pathetic this year.

Like I said earlier, there's absolutely no reason Vandy should have a better class than us.

They don't.

why? it's true. and, hate to say, Arkansas doesn't have the history of an Oklahoma or Nebraska to rely on.

Petrino is doing extremely well with what he gets, and he's spreading our reach to other states. As long as he keeps winning, the bigger recruits will start coming (e.g. Otha Peter's coach's comment that Arkansas gives Otha a chance to compete for championships while UTenn doesn't)

Not saying it isn't true to some extent, but is that what we are always going to fall back on if we don't get a top recruiting class, despite finishing ahead of a lot of those teams in final rankings for years in a row?

I just hope that the continued success will bring in better recruits, as you alluded to. Thank goodness that we have a coach that can do more with less.

According to Rivals. They shouldn't lead us in any recruiting service.

Is Philon for sure going to Bama?

You're using Rivals? Really?

We signed 9 4-star players.

OL Jeremy Ward
LB AJ Turner
WR D'Arthur Cowan
WR Keon Hatcher
DE Deatrich Wise
RB Jonathan Williams
DE Austin Flynn
DE Taiwan Johnson
LB Otha Peters

If the site that has Vandy's class ahead of ours is so good, why are they not coaching?

This class is fine and our staff did a good job. We lost out on a big prospect in the end, but we also flipped one of the best LBs in the nation. LB is a much bigger need than WR.

If u want to believe what espn or rivals writes, so be it. Just don't get upset when these kids continue to win 10 or 11 plus games a year here and Vandy scrapes by with 6 wins.

The only thing I am pissed off about DGB is if he really knew on Monday then he should have been a man and told our coaches. Instead he didn't and cost us Javon Williams because they thought that spot was locked up. So we lost not one but two possible wide receivers today.

They called Horton last night and told him he was coming. Coaches are pretty pissed.

Oklahoma has been getting media love ever since Barry Switzer and Darrell Royal first ran the wishbone against one another. It was a big deal...back in the MF70's. It doesn't care about logic, reason, or memory. The beast operates without a brain.

ESPN is easily the worst recruiting site out there.

People will never learn, this is a very good class, but because ESPN said so it must mean we'll suck.

One thing for certain...his decision is definitely not going to affect us as much as it will him... one of the worst thought out decisions in recent recruiting history. they are going to have their heads caved in for the next 3 years min. while they acclimate to the SEC. Punnanne' is a motherfricker to overcome

I wonder if they will even make it through the first semester together...

THIS.

And once the stadium/facility upgrades are actually DONE, I think they'll have a much bigger impact on recruits than renderings.

Not to mention Taver and Haynes didn't have a chance to recruit much. I think they'll both be upgrades on the recruiting front.

It's a process. Just don't forget that recruiting is only 1/3rd of the formula. Recruiting, development, coaching. If we're subpar/average recruiting, that means our development and coaching are off the charts. All we need is a minor uptick in recruiting to take that next step.

Don't forget, our classes have seen very little attrition. There's a lot to be said for having junior and senior laden teams. My have less talent than some our competition, but if we continue to trot out teams with age and experience that will make up for a lot. Also, Petrino's classes have consistently been ranked higher than Nutt ever did. So we're still trending upwards.

They were making excuses during the press conference saying DGB's lead recruiter Garrick McGee leaving hurt us, McGee never was the lead recruiter.

This is not a very good class. It's a decent class with the ceiling being 10-2 while losing to LSU and Alabama.

Our defense isn't close to theirs.
