How do they do it? What is so appealing to Texas compared to everybody else. They haven't done shite since losing McCoy and it looks like they won't have another 1st rounder this year. I just don't see why recruits would want to go there.

They called themselves "Texas University" up until some time in the 50's when they tried to pass themselves as "THE University of Texas" to mimic what Ohio State uses to describe themselves. It's to remind them that they're just another "texas university".

Ohio State never referred to themselves as "State University of Ohio".

There are actually programs from their own home games calling themselves Texas University.

Exactly. NOW you see my point.

Unlike the sips, however, Ohio State is the best academic school in the state of Ohio.

In the state of Texas, it's Rice and it's not close.

I've heard a different story from an old school aggie that played for Bear Bryant, it goes back further than the 50's, I'm pretty sure the school in Austin was always the University of Texas and Aggies don't like it because A&M was founded first.

I'll laugh at them on signing day. They'll still end up with the best class in the state and probably a top 5 class nationally.

do you call them a.u.? Is that even an insult? Like most you probably call them Auburn. Who uses the full name either University of or Name University? Its the common name or initials? Lousiana State or LSU, Southern Cal or USC, no one says the University of Souther California in regular discussions.

Whats the offical name of the school? If its Auburn University, then AU is correct, if it is the University of Auburn, then calling them AU is ghey.

The A&M thing is jsut petty inferiority complex. They have a great school, good football history and after the whole Big 12 divorce, they look a lot better in most peoples eyes. Time for them to get over the whole litter borther syndrome regarding UT.
