Saban didn’t win his 1st National Championship at Alabama until his 3rd year. DeBoer signed the #3 recruiting class last year and is on track to match or surpass that in his 2nd year.

And? In 2007, Saban’s first year, They lost to ULM.
The point is, DeBoer is building his team. His former OC is back and they’re pulling in a pretty strong class. It doesn’t happen overnight.

The fact you think those days are behind us is hilarious. We are still winning SEC Championships and in the playoffs with the best coach in the country and he is still young. You all are not winning SEC Championships, not making a 12 team playoff and finishing the season ranked #17. You get a couple of good recruits are ranked 8th in recruiting and are acting like Tennessee fans.

We’ve gone one season without doing those things. Either the decline is real or the delusion is strong with you..we shall see. I like our chances to be right back where we’ve historically been..competing for championships! I will agree though, a 9 win season at Bama is considered a disaster so you all should enjoy it when you see one!!

Like I said, you finished 17th, lost to Vandy and OU didnt play for the SEC, didnt make the playoff, ranked 8th in recruiting in here talking smack about winning. Its not delusion its reality. You sound like Tennessee fans. See you in Athens.

Puppies are acting like Clemson fans. Believe they have created a dynasty, and Smart is the next Saban. You will learn just as they did. You had a great run, and it has now come to an end. Does not mean your team will not be competitive and not make the playoffs but Kirby is not Saban. I know it is hard for puppy fans to grasp this, but UGA is not a dynasty.
An before you get defensive no realistic Alabama fans believes with DeBoer we will have the same success as Saban or expects us to win a title every year. We were blessed to have both Bear and Saban as coaches. DeBoer has had one year as a HC and it was better than Sabans first year. Hopefully we will improve just like Saban did.

You have to prove you can win before being in the discussion. You have to be able to develope players. Smart has proved he can develope players. Has DeBoer? It didn't look like Jalen got any better. It looked liked he regressed. You all were preseason #5 and expected to easily make the playoffs last year. Your team fell apart. DeBoer and Bama looked lost a lot of times. Then you have a good run on recruiting. Congrats you got some 5 stars but look at the drop off in the bottom half. Look at your 56% completion percentage qb that will be starting. Like I said earlier, you sound like Tennessee fans.

In year one, Gene Stallings was upset by an unranked Southern Miss team at home and won a national championship in year three. In year one, Nick Saban was upset by an unranked UL-Monroe team at home and won a national championship in year three. Perhaps history will repeat itself with Kalen DeBoer?
