Just read a story on him where he said BMac told him they are going to use him in the mold of a TE than they can split out ... like they did Hurst. Like Busta was used. Like Cook was used, etc.
I've got a feeling that if O'tre keeps growing and gaining weight we'll see him used inside and outside as well. Heard he is up to 240 right now and putting-on more muscle daily.
I like the way they are recruiting these big athletic TE types that can run routes like WRs. Gotta have good hands though, and gotta be able to seal off the ends and block downfield.
It's almost like the big pure blocking TEs are being phased-out except in very specific situations ... whereas they used to be stalwarts on most OLines. They even used to work-out with OLinemen. Not these days though.

Exactly. And this is why we have a guy like Luke Deal right up the road thats getting offers from the big boys in the SEC, but we aren't really recruiting him at all because while he's a beast of a kid that can block, his athleticism is pretty meh.

Saw where Les Miles' Son is transferring outta Nebraska today.
FBs and pure blocking TEs are a thing of the past for the time being ... but it'll eventually swing back in the other direction.
