Don't shite post trying to make a player seem higher ranked than he is...it's not that hard.
If you want to talk shite though we can talk about what happens on the field

His 247 rating is odd, you look at his offer list and it's loaded. Everywhere he camped, QBs avoided his side of the field like the plague.
Ratings aren't always consistent as we have seen in the past. Deandre Baker was a low rated 3*...
Personally, I think some players slide some money for 247 to give them a bump. Steele (USC Commit) was a 5* for all intents and purposes and got mysteriously dropped to a 4* for no reason.
Some people have said that it's an arbitrary number of recruits, things along those lines but I just don't buy it. You see certain guys who camp extremely well, have everything you're looking for and who get completely hosed by the ratings system.
I've probably lost more faith in ratings this year just by seeing several different people on several different sites noting how oblivious 247 seems with certain players when it's really obvious.

I want to lose faith. Help me out with some examples.

They give bumps to highly rated players who are uncommitted for ratings and to Bama/OSU commits. This has been known for years.

Yes, uncommitted players get bumps. Based on recent results on the field, PAWWWWWWLLLL, I'd say the Bama bump is actually a fair bump tho.
The other thing is that if a player attends a Rivals Camp, they bump him whether they deserve it or not.

Yes.
I mean I've heard of the Bama/OSU bumps, too, but I guess I just chalked it up to jealousy. I think if it's for the top 300, they should (for the sake of intellectual honesty) give reasons as to why someone is getting bumped.
I mean, they'd just lie and do it anyway but it's weird seeing guys lose/gain star status for absolutely no reason. The Crystal Balls are a mess as well, but I'll save that for another thread.

Does this mean that you actually took a look at Roman's measurables, or are you trying to frick with me?
I honestly can't tell any more

Are you seriously doubting that Rivals/247 don't bump certain players because of favors/donations/ratings?
Posted on 7/29/18 at 2:18 pm to StrawsDrawnAtRandom
Certainly Not enough to doubt the recruiting ranking system as a whole. A list of examples would need to be long to be convincing.

You don't read, man, and what you don't understand from someone you simply supplant what you want to see.
That's why I'm checking out of this before it devolves into another dj shitposting fest where all I do is talk to a wall the entire time.
I never said I doubted the recruiting ranking system as a whole, just that I lost more faith in it, and "probably". Why you took that to mean I wanted to eschew the ranking system as a whole is beyond me.

Well, What happened this year to make you feel this way? If you would support you claims, things wouldn’t devolve into multiple shite posts, but you prefer being vague.

I gave an example (which you obviously ignored). How is it to live exclusively in your own world where you debate people without putting an ounce of effort into understanding their side? Keep up the tism.

So a generic Bama/insert another elite school bump claim? Yawn. Their elite records on the field support their elite recruiting ranks.
Whining about a highly ranked usc commit slightly dropping isn’t much of an example either. A usc kid is the exact type that would be likely to get a bump up if anything nefarious were happening. Maybe he didn’t excel in camps. Maybe he was slightly overrated early on.
Whining about a 3 star having to settle for the vols isn’t a good example. There is a reason he didn’t pick between much better programs.
Deandre baker doesn’t Prove anything besides a 3 star can exceed expectations. He was a properly rated and bloomed as a jr in college due to good coaching and development.
