Alabama has added a major piece to its 2018 class in four-star defensive end Cameron Latu, he announced on Friday.

The Salt Lake City (Utah) Olympus product chose the Tide over USC, Nebraska, Utah, and Washington during a ceremony at his high school.

“Just their coaching staff I’m very comfortable,” Latu recently said about the Tide. “I love their coaching staff. My position coach, Tosh Lupoi, is just a really good guy. I feel like his energy would get me ready for the next level.”

A one-time BYU commit, Latu projects as a linebacker in Alabama’s defense.
