Yes, the player that committed to LSU when he was in 8th grade. Who saw this coming? LINK

Which is why I thought it was weird that LSU offered him in 8th grade. You can't tell from middle school film whether a QB will be good or not.

He didn't develop as much as anticipated. I think he was told to look around.
Kid is a statue in the pocket.

Miles and Cameron wanted him. Should be a dead giveaway.

Les Miles couldn't evaluate JR and SR QBs on LSUs roster, much less an 8th grader.
The whole thing was bazar.

He suffered a foot injury his sophomore year that completely ruined his development. When we offered him he looked like a future stud. Already 6'2 200, could throw it a mile, had decent wheels, and an elite pedigree (nephew of Koy and Ty Detmer). That foot injury sapped him of all his mobility and it never recovered correctly. He didn't step foot on a football field for nearly a year. His potential is pretty much gone sadly. Apparently he and the coaching staff haven't been in contact since July and I heard we were starting to push him out back then. Seems like a mutual decision to say the least.

Actually was looking at the LSUrb for information on Chris Allen since both our teams are recruiting him, and Ed O supposedly visited him today. I then saw this headline.
I thought it was an interesting storyline, as some LSU fans were convinced that his commitment was the future of recruiting rather than an anomaly.
I still maintain that college offers should wait until a prospect is in high school. And yes, I know Saban has offered 8th graders before.

Sounds like a prototypical LSU QB to me?

Under Miles and Cam, yes.
