who knows... every recruiting service has their own opinions.

I talking about facts though not some recruiting rankings. I've watched both of them play over 2 years now and one is better on a worse team.

Baseball sealed the deal because of how OU handled Kyler who along with being qb played baseball and school made time for him to do baseball and it didn’t take a back seat to football.

Both 247 and ON3 have him as #1 RB.

Not on3 for what it's worth, but the lufkin RB is better. Taylor tatum team is just a lot better and creates more holes and opportunities for him.

I’m not an expert and will defer to the hundreds of folks who have scouted him. And no ranking is always 100% right but thats what they do and they mostly do get it right. Its all brass tacks and one thing we know he’s ranked at the top by different agencies/criteria and based on that he should do great. There are arguments to be made for every player if someone else is better or not.
Time will be the true judge but I’m glad we stole him from under USC who was a lock to get him until he visited OU. Pulled him right out of Stinkins house. That makes it even sweeter.
And our baseball coach basically trolled USC Stinkin. You see, Stinkin always uses his 2 finger peace sign:

And OU BB Coach Skip sent this out after Tatum picked OU:

Well, if we're going to ignore recruiting rankings and go by eye test, go look at some video of UGA RB commit Dwight Phillips and get back to me. He's only ranked the #4 RB by the services, but he's the state champion in the 100 meters and was laser timed at one of those camps with a 4.28 in the 40. I'd put him up against anybody...but I'm no expert.

But why?

Yea, I heard about him 165-170 and 10.4 100 meter speed which is still exceptional even at that size. 4.28? U missed me with that one. Canden Durham the second best RB in TX I believe ran a 10.25 at 195 this spring and rushed 1800 yards in 6A Texas football against stiff competition and took his team to state and won.So I'll put him over Dwight anyday.

OU leads for Durham too….
Tatum is a composite 5 star for 247 based on all of his ranking . So basically like I said he’s the number one running back for this 2024 cycle .

I see that, his mother ran track there and his from the state. Hell he even has the area code tatted on him. LSU is the dark horse in the race. Tatum is not a composite 5 star, 247 is the only site that has him ranked as such. He is the composite number 1 though.

Don’t know what you’re looking at he is the number 31 overall in player and a 247 composite 5 star ….
You see those 5 little stars next to name ?What you said is totally inaccurate he isn’t a 5 star … he actually a 4 star ranked 42 on 247. But is an overall 247 composite 5 star…..which I have already explained. It’s an average of all rankings which makes him a composite 5 star.

4 or 5 star he's still not even the best running back in the state or his own district for that matter.
