UF fans here must be pretty young. How could anyone leave Vernon Maxwell off the list? Just because the school forgot about him, we should not. He took money from an agent and the school threw out all his records and act like he never existed. They took away his stats. Maxwell was the highest scoring Gators ever. He would have also been the 2nd highest scorer in the SEC behind Pistol Pete at the time. People look at Gator football starting in the 80s, well Maxwell took the Gators to our first NCAA tourney and 1st sweet 16.

Ronnie Williams holds the school record for points, field goals, minutes and free throws made.

Neal Walk became UFs first All American in 1968. His jersey was the first and I think only to this day retired by the Gators. He remains the highest Gator to ever be drafted at #2 in the NBA draft.

Dwayne Schintzus would be ranked above Horford and Noah. He’s still the only player in the SEC to score over 1,000 points, 800 rebounds, 250 assists and 250 blocks.

Eugene McDowell played with lessor players but was one of our best. To this day he has the most double doubles in Gators history.

Udonis Haslem was our first All American since Walk. First player to play on 4 tourney teams and be named to 4 All SEC teams.

Corey Brewer. along with Mad Max were some of the best wing defenders in college and the NBA. Chandler Parsons, David Lee, Matt Bonner all very underrated.

Well I'm mid/late 30s and starting watching Billy D in the late 90s so I'm not THAT young. Also I think this thread is more about putting your best 5 players on the court, not necessarily best stats.

I don't think anyone in their right mind could put big Dwayne Schintzus on the court over Horford and Noah. Dwayne was a great college player sure. Horford and Noah were great college players AND proved to be great players overall in the NBA (we won't even go into depth on the back to back titles). Horford has made like 6 All Star games, has always been one of the best defensive bigs in the NBA and is still a valuable piece to the best team in the NBA right now. Noah was every bit as good as Horford in the NBA in his prime before injuries. Made multiple all-stars, Chicago ran the entire offense through him at one point and he finished 4th in MVP voting.

I think Mad Max vs Bradley Beal is close. Yah my age might make me a bit biased towards Beal. But Beal was also one of the best scorers in the NBA for a number of seasons. I think his peak is probably better than Mad Max.

I might be the only UK fan that liked Dale Brown.

I'm a big fan of Dale. He had some fun teams, and LSU was great in the early 90's.

I remember watching the Bayou Miracle comeback and everytime they showed Dale on TV as UK was coming back, he just had this sly smile on his face like he knew what was happening, but couldn't figure out how to stop it.

Are we talking best college players or best NBA players. Schintzius was a tremendous college player but injuries destroyed what could have been a great NBA career. He was projected as high as #3 nba pick before his attitude and body got the best of him. Scintzius was so dominant, we won 3 straight years. Once they brought in a new coach, he got mad and quit the team, the Gators lost like 13 straight games without him. Horford and Noah were great players but they had a much better team. Schintzius like several others I mentioned had to do it on their own.

Maxwell was truly great in college. Stats much better than Beal. Beal had more upside but Max was one of the best in SEC.

as a UF fan you have to put Taurean Green at PG he just didn't turn the ball over and the most solid PG Florida ever had in my opinion. A 88% free throw shooter and made pressure 3's

DeClerq was great on that final 4 team as well

Really close call, but I think I'd take Melvin Booker over Sundvold.
