Saban knew what he was doing at LSU as well.
He stayed five years from 2000 through 2004
The year Miles came in LSU could only sign 13 players due to Saban oversigning.

He had the right to run some of the non performers off right? Did he

quote:I've always maintained my stance that Alabama cuts players that have under-performed to make room for players that may, or may not, perform to a higher degree. With that being said, I don't think Auburn has done the same thing, but that's mainly because we haven't had a chance to yet. There have been players that have "moved on" from Auburn when we were still under the scholarship limit and Auburn has been accused of "processing". Have we processed a couple, yes. Did we do it to make room for more players, I don't think so. Will we have to in the future if we can keep guys out of trouble, yes.
It is what SHOULD be done. Auburn and Saban were in the right when cutting players. That's life. That's America. This isn't some program where everyone gets a free ride for showing up.
Think about this, Jake Holland is still on Auburn's football team. That has to count for something. He would've been processed from Kentucky by now if we weren't so low on numbers at that position.

holland is a starter though, not a good example.

But they don't count against the 85, which is the number that really matters.
That's all well and good, but it's the difference between us being able to sign only 25 (no early enrollees) and signing 27 (2 early enrollees).

He's a starter. And I was referring to Auburn's basketball team anyways.
If we are naming names, how about William Ming at Bama. Has he ever even stepped on the field one time? He's somehow still on scholarship and is a 5th year

If he wasn't a senior this year, I'd be overjoyed to see him processed.

nah, holland will start again IMO. Frazier too.

Anyone else remember Jamar Travis? One of the most nonathletic defensive tackles I've ever seen. Somehow this guy was a 4 star coming out of high school, but then again so was Jake Holland.

Yo sarc those numbers might be a little off. I counted 70 scholarship players still on the bama roster as of today. That number didn't take into account any of the players signed last week.
85(total on scholarship)-8(scholarship srs)= 77-3(declared for draft)=74
74-4 (suspended indefenitly) =70+25(just signed)= 95.
Ten over the 85 limit is a LITTLE MORE than two over. Let the "PROCESSING" begin.

Where did you get the names of the folks on scholarship to count?

Just went back over the last five bama signing classes and scratched off anyone not on the roster anymore. Might have missed a couple but not that many.

Baseball players that transfer don't necessairly have to sit a year.

What if a kid did a "signing" but isn't on scholly. Say...maybe they are paying their own way? Would that invalidate your findings somewhat?

legend dude BROSS MON CHU!!!!
I really don't give a rat's arse as to how the lil midget runs his program. All I did was EDUCATE a bammar as to how this oversigning works. Nothing more nothing less.

I'm just asking do you have something that you can point to that indicates who is on scholarship and who isn't? Not that they are on the roster listed online...not that they had a signing day deal...that they are on scholly.

Who is officially on scholarship?
No, I'm not really posotive. I just counted all the guys that were reported by bama to have signed official LOI and actually enrolled at bama and were on the school's official roster.
Back to what you posted previously.
Some kids at bama actually went through the signing process as a show? When it was all said and done they were actually paying their own way?
