If CMR wins a title this year he will be considered a great coach.

I doubt it. There are multiple coaches who have won a MNC in the BCS era who are not considered great.

On top of 2 SEC Titles (with a natty it would be 3) and 3 BCS bowl appearances (not including a national championship) he would be considered a great coach. Maybe not immediately, but years later looking at his body of work he would.

I mean we're not happy but we know it's impossible to lock down GA. We get the most talent out of the state and that's a fact. That's about all we can ask for. It's definitely tough having Saban and Chizik right next door though.

He couldn't even win the division with Stafford/Moreno/AJ Green, so I'm gonna say no.

We had no defense when those 3 were playing. If you have no defense you have no championships. So that argument is dumb.

why does Mizzou have this complex about them....every since they entered the SEC the fans act like they're some big shite now....its kinda funny....

Come on dude, if you have paid attention to the majority of Mizzou posters here, you should know if anything, we are humbled, proud, and excited about joining the SEC. We are thankful for getting out of the Bevo conference and glad the SEC threw us a life line. We don't think we are big shite now, but we landed in the "big shite" conference. Seems you feel the need to attempt to trash Mizzou because of the very effect troll job kills has done on you.

where da mizzou fans at......

We are right here and I think the OP just threw out a curiosity question to start the thread. Like many here have done. Trust me, most Mizzou fans know we are "snack bitten" Uni where if anything can go wrong, it will with us. Our history of bad luck shows that.

Couldn't even win the division though.

Yet we've made it to Atlanta with far less talented offenses. Know why? We played better defense.

I am sure this has been stated, the head coach @ Georgia (particulary since the post 96 Olympic boom) could fall out of bed and recruit a year in year out 8 win team.

No I do not think Richt would have had more or less sucess @ Missouri than Gary Pinkel who had to work hard to recruit his year in year out 8 win team

I agree Killian. For the most part, Coach Pinkel has done a damn fine job bringing Mizzou back to national relevance. Larry Smith got the ball rolling, and Pinkel built upon that. Other than the dwi, Pinkel has also repped Mizzou quite well.

Don't kid yourselves Pinkel has done way more with much less in his tenure @ Missouri.

He may infact be a better "coach" than Richt.

People forget how good his record was @ Toledo. Had a 12-0 season in the mid 90's.

i really haven't watched enough mizzou football to comment on it. i'll readily admit if i think he's a better game-time coach though. the 8th will probably show a lot but shite i think richt is a better coach than james franklin currently but that dude totally out coached him in Nashville IMO

I'm perfectly happy with Pinkel as our coach instead of Richt. I do remember when they both were interviewed for the job when it came open.

I also think Pinkel and the AD has put together a good, forward thinking game plan to join the SEC.

Did Pinkel ever go 1-2 against Ron Zook with vastly superior teams?

Sean Weatherspoon,Aldon Smith,Ziggy Hood all under the radar kids that excelled under Pinkel.

Our (PSU) 4 star kids are never seeing the field, his 2 star kids are now starring on Sundays
'
ETA Jeremy Maclin was a 4 star

Pinkel was tackled in practice @ Kent State by Nick Saban maybe the Croatian magic rubbed off
