He was their #1 CB. Mathieu was a lot like Minkah is for the Tide now, pretty much everywhere.
Yes. Thanks for explaining College Football 101.

Doesn’t change the fact that Blackmon would have his way with that secondary and they’d need Mathieu to create some crazy turnovers on D or some special teams magic once again to have a chance.

Handidly, which is why Bama was the correct #2 that year and got the rematch. Two best teams played and Bama won round two when it mattered more.

Yes. Woulda been able to control LOS and Run Da Bawl, and our defense wouldn’t have been on the field all night like against Bama.

You sound like a fricking moron insinuating that Mathieu was LSU's only playmaker that year. We beat the ever-loving shite out of 2 other prolific spread offenses in UO & WV that year, although not quite as bad as we arse-raped pitiful auburn. LSU would have humiliated Ok St, and you don't know jack shite about football if you think otherwise.

Oh yeah...that WV team that we thrashed? They just happened to drop SEVENTY on a Clemson defense that was coached by none other than your current DC.

"To have a chance" Seriously, GTFO with this retarded shite.

I am shocked at an Alabama fan saying this.I went the 9-6 game and kinda felt they shite the bed in overtime with macarron looking lost and our kicking game with brad wing and drew alleman money all night.I didn't wanna play bama again but lsu and bama were the 2 best teams.okie state lost to a bad Iowa State team.even though we didn't win, that lsu team made us all proud.our defense that year was one of the best ever.didn't a couple of our backups get drafted?

WVU had no problems rolling up 462 yards passing on them and Tavon Austin went nuts against that secondary.

yes, on 65 pass attempts, still lost by 26

Less than 8 yards per attempt. Not very efficient.
