I reckon y’all averaged way more than 24 ppg that season. Particularly at home
I agree. We should’ve at least kicked a FG from their 5-yard line to make it more respectable, instead of taking a knee.
Scoring only 24 while rolling up 535 yards of offense and 440 yards rushing is an embarrassment.

LSU would have beaten Oklahoma State like they beat everyone else that season and it's really not debatable.
It would have been a moderately close game in the 1st half.
LSU's fitness and strength would have worn down OSU in the 2nd half and LSU's defense and special teams take over and LSU's running game and offensive line bully OSU. LSU wins a 41-20 game.
LSU was the most physically fit team I've ever seen through those first 13 games. A lot of that has to do with LSU's conditioning program they did in the offseason to get ready for the Oregon game.
The Oregon game is a good example of how LSU/Oklahoma State would have gone.

I genuinely have no idea why you’re being so rustled

Would have blown that mullet right off of "I'm a man damnit, I'm 40!", of course if he would have had one back then!

Arkansas was the 3rd best team in the country that year. Unfortunately they were in the same division as the 2 best teams and didn’t even make a BCS bowl because of it.

So, it would’ve been a close game that turned due to a freak special teams fumble recovery for a TD?

LSU had athletes that knew how to make plays. LSU's defense and special teams made plays. LSU also physically dominated and wore Oregon out in the 2nd half but this thread has you really rustled for some reason.

LSU would have blown them out. Bama and LSU were on a different level than everyone1 else that year.Bama blew out everyone but LSU in the 1st game. LSU blew out everyone but the 2 games vs. Bama.
Probably the 2 best teams of the 2010's just so happened to be the same year.

Mathieu turned the UO game with a tremendous special teams play on the forced fumble/fumble recovery TD. Not something that could be counted on each week against every team.
You guys not understanding this is why your team got destroyed in New Orleans. Bama took Mathieu’s impact completely out of the game and you had no competent offense that could create for itself, so you never even crossed the 50-yd line.

Seriously?!? LSU was winning 40-20 until Oregon scored a garbage td with 6 seconds left to make it 40-27, only because of a special teams turnover early in the game?!?! Ninga pleeeeeeease

And you think Oklahoma State would? Lol

I also think Justin Blackmon was a better WR than Kevin Norwood. Slightly...

Lol at thinking LSU would have put Mathieu on Blackmon

You know Morris Claiborne would have been on Blackmon, right??

Yes. It would’ve been a massacre on the level of Notre Dame/Alabama

WVU had no problems rolling up 462 yards passing on them and Tavon Austin went nuts against that secondary.
But once again, Mathieu on D and special teams plays made the difference for an otherwise lopsided offensive performance for both teams.

He was their #1 CB. Mathieu was a lot like Minkah is for the Tide now, pretty much everywhere.
