So what I’m gathering is that having to play each other in something besides a semifinal or NY6 bowl is beneath the prestige of these 7-5 programs?

No, that isn't it at all. I think we would be beat them if we were matched up in a bowl game this year. The reason I don't want to put them on the schedule is I think their home line up, year in and year out is crap, I don't want to schedule a home and home with them and give them something to sell to recruits. Simple as that
