UT has been putting pressure on them ever since the late 2000s and that's coupled with the construction that started a couple years ago that has turned the strip into a mess. It will get better in the future once the construction is done, but it will never go back to the college awesomeness of the old strip. Once Tin Roof closed down, it was the end of an era.

If the Dixie Chicken didn't have such historical significance and charm, it would easily be the shittiest bar in the world.
That said, the shittiest bar/strip club in the SEC was shut down by the State of Texas. Officially named "The Silk Stocking" we lovingly referred to that dive as "The Dirty Sock." It was probably the only strip club in the world where patrons would pay strippers to put their damn clothes back on.
So, what all this shite means is we're not even #1 in shitty bars anymore.

Thankfully it got replaced with the Wheelhouse Pub, which is a great barcade, but the worst var was definitely Kennedys Bar. Blacks used to over run it and there was always crime.
