To be honest, outside of SEC country, nobody puts any more value on an Alabama undergraduate degree than an Ole Miss undergraduate degree. Period. Hell, I'm not sure it matters in SEC country either. Undergrad degrees aren't worth much anymore.
Outside of the Southeast the only undergraduate SEC degree that will catch someone's attention on a resume is Vanderbilt. (CUE BUTTHURT FLORIDA AND AGGIE FANS)
Here in DC, people generally look down on the state schools, even the good ones outside of UVA, Berkley, and maybe Michigan. It's not what you know, it's who you know... and then it's where you went to grad/law/medical/professional school.
So shut the flying frick up.
