What about the players you listed from the 2008 class that didn't even qualify that year? Like Freddie Smooth and Brandon Smith.

I think there are 15 from Chizik's full classes.
Joel Bonomolo
Ed Christian
Jessel Curry
Michael Dyer
Antonio Goodwin
Shaun Kitchens
Dakota Mosley
Ladarious Phillips
Jeremy Richardson
Thomas O'Reilly
Aubrey Phillips
Mike McNeil
Jonathan Rose
Zeke Pike
Jovon Robinson

OK, maybe I misunderstood the 41%. It was from an AU poster, and I don't feel like looking for it again. Maybe it was attrition from opening day rosters since his arrival, don't know.
Wasn't really pointing a finger, just curious if AU fans see it as a reason to be concerned. I don't follow the football team as close as the basketball team, and I would definitely have concerns with the attrition under Barbee.

Just posting names of players that could have potentially contributed this year had they made it in or stuck it out.
That's retarded.

I never faulted Chizik for it.

Thank God I hate basketball. That sport is a clusterfrick in Auburn.

DOn't want to read this thread.

bona fide's post was about Chizik, and you added players names to one of his quotes. If you were speaking of attrition in particular, why not go further back?

Read the 7th post of page 26.

quote:Jovon Robinson's transcript was apparently altered by his guidance counselor. AU is holding him out of practice until it is determined whether he will be eligible or not (chances are he won't be). Most of this thread is ATPB'ers thinking AU is gonna get screwed from this, which seems unlikely at this point

Good catch, thanks. I don't guess I was even aware that Jawara was gone.

Still was on the team. I didn't post that list in relation to signing class attrition... just pointing out players that have either not made it in or been shown the door for one reason or another - and could have contributed this year had they made it in or stayed.

I didn't quote his whole post... just the part about "another player lost". I honestly don't have any numbers regarding signing classes and percentage of attrition. My only point in posting that list was to show the names of players who could have contributed this year. I think everyone on that list signed 2008-2012, except for McNeil, as AU9893 pointed out.

Just for clarification, Jawara White is no longer playing because of he has some sort of spinal condition that would be very dangerous if he kept playing. They kept finding fluid in his spine or something.
As for Phillips, he kept having seizures I think and was instructed to retire by doctors

Some how or another I completely missed this. That sucks. I remember his recruitment. I liked the kid and really wanted him at Bama.

Yeah, it was a pretty sad incident. Kid would have gotten major playing time this season and would have probably been pretty good.

Since everyone else is speculating I will too.
What if Jovon's mom was the one who begged the guidance counselor to change his grades? Who's to say a mom wouldn't do everything she could for her son when she realized he might not graduate or be eligible to attend college on a scholarship? I'm sure she could tell a GC a compelling story about how hard it was for JR losing his father at a young age, how it's so important that he be eligible, ect ect ect..
btw I speak from some experience. My brother didn't graduate HS because of a mere few hundredths of a point. My mom and dad did everything they could from meeting with principals, the school board, teachers and counselors, but to no avail. He did eventually graduate, but my mom is convinced it has affected to this day.

Have we figured out exactly how this got found out? Who discovered the fact that the transcript had been messed with?
