My thought is that OP is a dope. All of the other BCSCGs were on ABC. The last two were on ESPN. If you put the Super Bowl on ESPN, it would be the lowest rated Super Bowl in the last 10 years, no matter who played. That's the difference between cable and network.
The last two BCSCGs were the most and second most watched cable programs of all time. That's a huge home run for ESPN.

But last year's game was the highest rated cable program in history. People like to see offense, not put to sleep by defense. It's just a fact of life. This was easily one of the most boring NC's ever.

Wrong! FOX Sports had previous BCS contract. Fox also had the Bowl Coalition contract. As McDonough and Donahue did UF NU game.
