Will it be the Texas two-step or the Tennessee waltz that wins out? New ESPN FPI rankings

While UGA fell to #2 in the AP poll, they retained the #1 position in the Coaches Poll. ESPN FPI has dropped them to #2.

The Longhorns have been temporarily moved up to the #1 position while the Volunteers are appearing in the rare and unaccustomed rarified atmosphere of appearing in the top 5. Congrats to both.

But, lookey here.........look all the way down to #18..........an old familiar face has reappeared and I, personally, am glad to see'em back in some kind of ranking that's not a bad ranking. We're talking about the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Congrats and welcome back.

What’s amazing is we have the power index’s top 4 teams. I think we’ve got a good team but I wouldn’t put us that high until we see how we do at OU. That game will be a good test. First road game for the RSfrosh and because of Heupel there’s gonna be a ton of pressure and emotions to deal with so it should simulate a rivalry game on that count.
