Why would Jordan Jefferson get benched for Lee?

from an outsiders view JJ does not throw the pick 6. He seems to hit wide open receivers from time to time, and he can run. But I have not watched every snap of every game for LSU. But the only thing I see in him is that he is playing scared like the coaches have put too much emphasis on not turning the ball over. He does only seem to throw to wide open receivers.

According to the experts here, the LSU coaches are too stupid to realize that Lee is the answer to this offense.

lee has talent, maybe he should get his shot...maybe not. i think we should stick with jj but if lee were to play some, i wouldn't be mad about it.

I should have just left my post blank. I really do not remember anything out of Lee that would make me thing he is better than Jefferson. It seems like the best bet would be to run a SIMPLE OFFENSE with Shepherd. If you had to make a qb change.

I dont think he should be benched and I agree with the notion that JJ is being TOO conservative because he is being coached that way.
It's really a double-edged sword though. If he continues to play so conservatively he wont lose games for us, but i dont see him making the big play and winning any games for us either.
On the other hand you can give him the green light to sling it at will and he may end up really winning a few games for us, but also losing a few games too.
Should he get hurt I will be more than happy with Jarrett Lee coming in, but I dont think a change is necessary. Jefferson is a Work in Progress.

the same could be said for JL

Yeah, because JLee is the exact same player as he was last year. QB's don't mature in this league. I mean, don't you think JLee would throw 7 pick 6's every year if he were allowed to start?
It was his fault with the interceptions, yes, but it's not his fault LSU sucked in transition defense that sucked at tackling LB's.

When JJ leads us to a win over Bama, a rematch win over FLA, and the national championship these posts will look silly...

That is how it appears. Possibly the run blocking of the offensive line is not as effective as the coaches anticipated. They probably expected with Scott back there to be able to run the ball and put Jefferson in a game manager type of role. But a conservative QB and a non-existent running game = a terrible offense and that is LSU's product so far. But the talent is there turn it around.

What year is this? '08? Why do people continue to bring up last year like that's the way JLee would perform and that's the exact numbers he would end up with yet again.

neither qb will take us where we need to be. Lee does not seem to be able to handle the pressure of live games very well and JJ just seems to be in neutral from the chik fil a bowl. either garett and shep are our only hopes or we need to depend on Zach Lee from the '10 class (though he may play pro baseball).

I agree. Also can apply this to coaches.

Agree to a point but you have to really question why the coaching staff did not help by not putting him in horrible situations. Hell just go back and watch the 4th quarter of the UA LSU game last year.

I personally think the lack of creative play calling and general out coaching, is the problem with this LSU offense - more so than JJ.
That is why, just like last year, we will likely lose to Bama over coaching, than any one other thing. Still, we have great personnel and last year's game could have easily been a loss for Bama.
If I were Bama, I would be worried about one thing and one thing only - the lack of good QB play is apparent. Also, its clear that LSU's defense is improving each game. Bama will be more than tested by LSU and could well lose that game.

i lean towards this but i would at least like to see JL get another shot. the kid made some spectacular passes down the field.

Yeah because both these guys proved that they can play top level SEC ball.
I hate guys that don't know shite about football and try to chime in on adult conversation.

i agree with this, but I'm more of a fan of offensive consistency and seeing how a player will develop. While at this point JJ and JL may very well be equal in terms of what they bring to the game, since we started the season and are 5-1 with JJ i think we keep him in and very the offensive playcalling to gain an advantage as opposed to varying the quarterback who is running that offense.
