and I am fine with that. If we can be in the mix for an SEC WEST championship once every 3 seasons or so, I am happy and that is the most we can expect.

Check my post history. I'm an objective fan. I've said at least 6 times, I think this is your year to win the West and the SEC

Must get to a BCS bowl to have a chance to win it. BTW, you can try to equivocate or side-step but the fact remains, Petrino is 1-1 in BCS Bowl games while Hootie has yet to even make one.

I have to care to post a fact?
that's a new one
eta: so Arky gets credit for winning a BCS bowl while their current coach was at Louisville?
sounds like the Saban lovers giving credit to the 07 BCSC but whatever

Broke has always been fair with his posts from what I recall.
Do you still think Arkansas can have that good of a season without Knile Davis?

nope, Petrino is 2 out of 3 as head coach. that is 67 percent and he wins this year it goes to 75 percent. I said 8 or 9 out of 10 but it is more like 7 or 8 out of 10 instead of 9, my bad.
and Houston Nutt's win % over Bobby Petrino is what?

really tough break.....I still can't believe some of the things Auburn fan said after it was announced, just foul
with some of the moves, it seems depth was a issue and with Davis out that is a rough road, but if anyone can win by just throwing it probably is arky

BP got us to a BCS bowl in 3 years, something Nutt didn't do in 10. Fact.

I think it's a wrench in the overall plan. Your QB play is important here. You have the receivers to do it. And you do get a proven back returning. So yeah, I still think you have a good season. But Knile is a difference maker and you will miss him imo.

true, but despite the loss the overall season was a step in the right direction IMO.

You can't ignore that Arkansas had just lost Darren McFadden, Felix Jones, Peyton Hillis, Marcus Monk, along with several defensive starters.
At the same time, Nutt took over a team that was loaded.

I still think this is a 8-4 team. New QB and a lot of inexperience on the Oline. Our defense Should be the best it's been since Willy has been here.
It's close to the season and I'm relishing the anticipation.

Like I said, your QB play is gonna be important. But I've watched a few games where he has played and he's good. I was impressed. If he gets comfortable and hits the receivers, this is gonna be an air assault against regular teams. And some issues with good teams with a solid core of corners and safeties. I think you win 9 or 10.
And thanks for the backup about my objectivity. I'm not real well known around here.

The Nutt comparisons with Petrino are laughable. Nutt left the Arkansas program worse off and void of talent from when he took over here. In fact, Nutt's best winning percentage at Arkansas was his first season in 98.
On the otherhand, Petrino walks into a very difficult situation. Very little defensive talent (had to kick off one of the best defensive players b/c he held a girl hostage), two Dick brothers at QB and a line that couldn't pass block. In his third season Petrino took this team to a BCS bowl, and yes they lost the game. Still, Petrino has accomplished something Hootie could not. On the otherhand, Hootie did make it to Atlanta twice.
To have any accurate comparison, we'll have to wait a few more seasons. Maybe compare the two after Petrino's 10th season with the Hogs.
