Petrino's record improved while Hootie's declined
9-3, 8-4, 6-6, 7-5, 9-5, 9-4. In his first 6 years Nutt had 1 mediocre season (.500) and in 10 years he had 2 years under .500. In his first 3 years Bobby Petrino has already had 1 season under .500 (.417). It took Nutt 7 years before he went under .500 and two years later he won the West.
How many times has Petrino won the West?

I'd think they could improve that program.
LSU has the same number of BB NC as Arky and has actually been to the final four this millennium.
Arky.....been a while since they made the Big Dance. But of course.... as always..their future is brighter than their past!!!

But you my friend are a reasonable hog fan as is Jon Hamm and a few others. It's the stupid ones like (too many to name) that come on here trying to tear down a program that has dominated it in every way when you compare them. I just don't like to read that shite on Tigerdroppings, even in the SEC rant which likes to pretend that LSU fans aren't welcome on their own fansite. Just stupid and piggy and deserves a boot to the head. Arkansas does seemingly have its best years ahead of them, its just the dickwads that like to pretend they've already conquered.

so you will go on the record as saying Nutt is a better coach than Petrino? Should Miles retire tomorrow and the two finalists for the job are Petrino and Nutt, who do you take? Don't deflect, just answer those two questions.

don't get me started. Interest isn't the issue, the 80's LSU and UK were basketball kings in the SEC, leadership is the issue and basketball in state talent took a serious hit after Katrina plus the BBall program has always had a issue with New Orleans talent, can't get it to stay in state

LSU has 2 of the top 50 basketball players of all time,
3 actually, bob Petit was a incredible basketball talent and mind....50's i know but I watched a NBA special about him....the man was considered on par with Chamberlin and Russell
I love Les Miles and have since 05, never has gotten the credit he deserves for "managing" that season

No....Petrino has had 2 home games to LSU's one. It's that simple. In fact, after this year you will have no hat rack to hang the hat on.

Using the criteria you established earlier in this thread, and in other threads in the past, Nutt is the correct choice.
But I forgot you change the criteria when it doesn't favor Petrino.

It was stated that Nutt led Arkansas on a downward spiral, it seems to me that his teams regressed as he lost talent and experience and then progressed as he gained talent and experience. Did he drop in years 2 and 3? Yes, he did and then he rebounded in year 4 and won the West in year 5. Regressed in years 7 and 8 and then won the West in year 9.

Fact: Current SEC Coaches Richt, Saban (2), Meyer, Miles, and Chizit ALL won the SEC Conference Championship before their 4th year.
Conjecture: Bobby Petrino is better than all of them!!

At this point it makes sense to only compare their first 3 years at Arkansas. If you want to broaden that to include all of Hootie's time at Arkansas and/or Ole Miss then Petrino's record at Louisville should enter the discussion. I don't think you want to do that though.
Those records do not occur in a vacuum, even though you imply they do. This raises a question.
Are you biased against Petrino and don't want to discuss the condition of the Arkansas team when each coach took over, or are you just stupid?
Hell, we can even talk about the condition of Bama's coaching talent and sanctions (2002-206) in the 2000's and how that positively benefitted the other SEC West teams during that period.

In reality the answer is Petrino but you are claiming Petrino is better than Miles because Petrino is 2-1 head to head but then claim Nutt isn't as good as Petrino even though Nutt is 2-1 head to head.
You can't have it both ways.

Do you know what the prior 3 years record for Arkansas was before Nutt took over in 98? And what were the prior 3 years record for Arkansas before Petrino took over?
The answer is 15-20 (7-15 the prior 2 years) before Nutt took over.
And 22-15 (18-8 the prior 2 years) before Petrino took over.

Dammit dude I want YOUR opinion. Quit fricking deflecting and give me your opinion in one word:
Better coach: Petrino or Nutt
Forced to pick who would you rather have coach LSU: Petrino or Nutt
It's not fricking rocket science.

1935? Really?
I usually don't acknowledge championships before integration. The game has changed so much it's not truly the same sport. Just my $0.02.
I see a lot of potential in LSU's program, did not mean to hurt your feelings about it.

Wrong. I am saying the real world Petrino is light years better than Nutt as a coach but if one is to use the same logic Laterian uses to claim Petrino is better than Miles then Nutt is the better coach.
I would rather shoot myself than have Nutt coach my team.

By Arkansian AckBasswards Logic (AAL)...we now have definitive proof that the Big East is a better conference than the SEC. If Bobby P can win 22% more games there then ..AAL tells us that the Big East MUST be 22% greater than the SEC.
