True. There are no so called "favorites." Another factor is that 10 founding members have been in the conference for 78 years. No other conference can say that.

look at the rivals top ten recruiting classes the past several years.
notice, a few SEC teams.
one or two from all the other conferences, and Notre Dame.
if you have the horses, you can compete.
coaching is nice, having the best players is nicer.
Boise, and WV and a few other programs sniff the big time based on having coaching and a system with seniors.
SEC teams are rolling now, on the reputation built by 5 straight national champions from the SEC.
