I predict that at next summers SEC meeting, the ADs will get together and come up with a protocol for just such occasions. I can almost guarantee you that the new protocol will look VERY much like what LSU was proposing the week before the storm - as all the other ADs will want to minimize impacts on other games scheduled later in the year.

I agree with this. I think that the SEC needs to have a bye weekend after the end of the regular season and then play the conference championship games the following weekend. That way, if there's a situation like this, neither team has to cancel OOC games or lose home games. The game could get moved to the buffer week and all games get played. That seems fair and it gives the members of the SEC Championship Game an extra week to prepare and that leads to a better product on the field for the SECCG

LSU fans can be ridiculous. If anyone knows this, it's me. I am constantly fending off the coonasses on the TR.

But you're attempting to claim we are butthurt when all you've done is whine in this thread, that you started.

Yeah, I remember saying that when Florida had Jarrad Davis, Alex Anzalone, Marcus Maye, full strength Bryan Cox Jr, Caleb Brantley, Joey Ivey, and Taven Bryan. All of those guys are either out for the year or questionable. Davis, Anzalone, and Maye all had a chance at being all conference. Maye was a first team all American last year. Davis and Anzalone were considered one of the top two linebacker duos in the conference. Quincy and Tabor are the best duo of CBs in the nation.

This defense is legit and was elite when they were healthy.

Remember when LSU was guaranteeing a victory against Alabama then got shutout at home? Member?

Remember that LSU is seriously considering hiring Coach O as their head coach? Member?

I know when Bowl selection is. But don't you think that the Bowl committee will wait until the best conference in America crowns their champion before they select what Bowl a team is going to? I certainly think they will wait for the SEC. And if the sec does this, you'll see every other conference start doing it as well.

The easier answer would just be have a protocol in place that eliminates anyone digging their heels in. Play the game away, like UF is doing now and LSU did in 2005, and then make up for it in the coming years.

Having a bye week in case of a natural disaster isn't necessary.

Although I'm okay with Florida getting two home games against LSU in the next two years, I don't think it's fair to punish a home team because of a natural disaster.

Adding an extra bye week at the end of the season before the SECCG isn't something that's drastic, and it gives a common bye date for all teams so that they can make up an SEC game without having to change the location of future games. It seems like a common sense fix to me, and something that the conference should take up starting next year.

You're such an over dramatic pussy. Gainesville had 20-30 mph winds when Matthew came through.

Oh wait, a strong breeze CAN knock down trailers.....

Can we stop this. You guys completely pussed out & and refused to play. This is all your fault. Nobody really won. We have to go there 2 years in a row. Glad I hadn't planned on going to this game & ended up with a day game & not the expected tailgate.

You're an incompetent bitch who obviously can't read. I was referencing the people within 50 miles of Gainesville who lost their homes and had their lives destroyed because of Hurricane Matthew.

Does it make you or any other LSU fan an over dramatic pussy for getting offended whenever someone brings up Katrina 11 years later?

That "strong breeze" wrecked the coast of Florida and it has wrecked the economic state of Louisiana for 11 years? You would think that people from Louisiana, of all people, would understand the impacts and devastation of a fricking hurricane.

Except that it is...you think the bowls and their crazy amounts of money spent and given is going to give up a week of their ad space/ticket selling time frame bc the SEC needs an extra bye week? C'mon bro that is drastic. Less drastic is to start the SEC season a week earlier than everyone else and have everyone play a league game...that would be the tits! Then no one plays thanksgiving week. And there's ur bye week.

I agree. Why would Foley punish Florida like that when he was just about out the door?

Kind of makes me wonder if he didn't harbor some kind of personal grudge against someone at UF.
