I cant think of a single game they won that we wouldn't while on the other hand, they wouldn't beat Arkansas or auburn. we would beat them by a score or 10 points

Chip Brown is known for getting "poleaxed" (his words) by his sources regarding A&M during conference re-alignment

He is a longhorn fan site reporter

He has a bone to pick with A&M

Based on the above, I might not choose to believe he is a credible source for gossip when it comes to A&M. It's as if he calls his longhorn buddies and asks them to tell him what to write. Many think the Texas athletic department gives him talking points in memo form

Despite what TCU did to them, I still think they have a pretty good defense?

I feel like they're a worse version of LSU, style wise.

A&M is a bit worse than LSU, in general. The Aggies would certainly be favored and I guess probably win, but with their defense, I wouldn't doubt the abilities of any team to score on them.

its decent. its 17th in defensive efficiency. but you can score on them. byu and iowa fricking state did it as well

Sipper, we applaud the Longhorn Network. By trying to televise high school games for your recruiting purposes and forcing the bottom feeders like Iowa State, et al to lose revenue for playing on it was the final straw and gave us the opening to join the greatest conference around.

Is it tough? You bet. but every week is like a bowl game and we are getting huge pay outs.

We don't have the gimmee's like Iowa State, West Virginia, Oklahoma State and Kansas. It's tough football every week.

Have a nice day and hope to see you soon.

If we opened with North Texas, A.J. Hilliard doesn't get hurt. It's likely Allen would have started (because Hill was given the job before SC because of his experience) At the time Texas played Baylor, we were ROLLING. Jarvis Harrison wasn't put into the starting lineup until after the Arkansas game. The line was still efficient back then.

It's extremely likely Allen starts all 12 games under the scenario in which we play Texas' schedule.

Just curious, what is LSU?

I'd have to guess somewhere in the 70s?

This has been my favorite part about joining the SEC. My first year on campus was the inaugural year, and even in the losses, I experienced the most exciting football I had ever seen.

With Johnny gone I thought there would be a drop off, but you can't help but get hyped with the big names on the schedule. Every conference game has that 'electric' feel, and you don't find that in Lubbock or Waco.

With that said, winning a fricking 'bowl game' would be nice.

On what planet are these games tossups?

Despite what some people think, TCU doesn't have a terrible defense. Both the Frogs and Bears would put up 55 on aTm.
quote:

UCLA - Tossup (leaning win)

aTm could win this game, especially early in the season, but it's probably 50/50.
quote:

Oklahoma - Tossup (leaning win)

quote:

Kansas State - Tossup (leaning loss)

quote:

West Virginia - Tossup (leaning win)

quote:

BYU - Win

Would all be tough games, and would depend on where they are played. Don't forget that BYU had a good team early in the season before their quarterback got hurt. He would have torched aTm's defense.

Put aTm at 2-2 in those 4 games. You're looking at 8-4 or 7-5 with Texas' schedule.

The Longhorns played a beast of a schedule this year. Don't let anyone tell you differently.

I think we go 8-4 with the schedule texas had. im thinking the only SEC win texas would have gotten would have been south Carolina. maybe Arkansas since the game was earlier in the year

Go by the locations they were played for Texas.

BYU was in Austin
UCLA was in Arlington (and Hundley got hurt)
Baylor was in Austin
Oklahoma was neutral, but Texas was the home team
Kansas State was in Manhattan
West Virginia was in Austin

Still tossups to me. Y'all would probably beat BYU, but they were a lot better early on than they ended up being at the end of it.

Loss.

Tossup

I agree with WCA. Prob 8-4.

For some reason though, we own Baylor and TCU the way Missouri inexplicably owns us lately.

Remember that a Texas A&M team who ended up going 6-6 smashed Robert Griffin to pieces in 2011 and beat Baylor 55-28.

The one time Mike Sherman came back from a 2+ score halftime deficit? Baylor in 2010 (trailed by 16 in the 2nd quarter and by 9 at halftime). In fact, A&M trailed 30-21 at halftime but outscored Baylor 21-0 in the 2nd half in Waco.

That's a lot of confidence for a team that has one of the worst defenses I've ever seen and that took a 59-0 loss.

I agree that aTm is better than Texas, but saying it would be a tossup with Baylor and TCU is kind of ridiculous.

Remember Baylor hasn't won at Kyle Field since 1984.

Also remember that TCU hasn't beaten A&M at all since 1972.
