He must have been in contact early of the season about the opening and then just did not bother do anything for the team since he will be leaving for aTm at the end of the season. It set FSU for the fall and just bolt for aTm and did it to hurt FSU in recruiting and so forth.

Because Sumlin was awful at A&M, and the gump-aggie coalition wants to believe that it was Sumlin and not Texas A&M that sucks.

Or maybe the real reason: We know 90% of success in this sport is recruiting and after Herman pushed our shite in last year we needed to do something big to keep him from taking over the state.
We thought bringing in a guy with a ring would help recruiting, and hot damn it worked! Now he just needs to do that for a few years and we will finally have a roster worth talking about for the first time since the 1980s.

I'm not Jimbos defender *BUT* he was going thru a horrible divorce with a wife who cheated on him with an FSU athlete. Can't blame him for wanting to get away to a fresh start far far away from that mess.
