The other thread got me to thinking. It wasn't exactly awful vs Florida, but he did throw that pick six in 97.I can understand losing to Wuerffel, but to Doug Johnson????

I mean in 96 tenner didn't score until Florida was up 35 nothing.I think Gators scored 83-0 vs Tenn from mid 95 game into the 96 game. I see where u say chavis, but manning and offense didn't do shite either.

Making the most of the economic slow down, I decided to watch all the 90s UT -FL games in their entirety. I'm at the midway point of the '96 game and just realized that between the 48-0 closeout of the '95 game and 35-0 start to the '96 game, the Gators scored 83 unanswered points against the Vols and Peyton Manning. Also, between the 31-0 win in Neyland in '94 and the 35-0 start in '96, that is 66 unanswered points on their home turf. It is unbelievable what Spurrier was able to do to the Vols in the 90s

Spurrier was a better coach. Florida had more weapons. Stoops was better defensive coordinator than Chavis.
Plus, Tennessee had the yips vs Florida. Gators were so in the Vols' heads.

Between his trash talking and Florida putting up 40-50 points in conference that played almost all defense, Spurrier fricked with everyone in the SEC.
