Anyways, I know a lot of people are high on Rivers and very excited about Rettig. However, call me crazy, but I really like Jerrard Randall. I hope he can crack the top of the depth chart because he has a lot of potential.

How good is Ely?

Well, Saban has a player that was playing RB at this time last year ahead of him on the depth chart so you can come to your own conclusions based on that information. Alec Morris seems to be a Greg McElroy game-manager type QB but he probably won't ever be starting QB material. It would have been nice if Philip Sims had stuck around to take over the reins in 2014 but I guess he's happier putting up mediocre numbers at a 3-6 ACC school. Bateman will be the starting QB in 2014 IMO.

From what I've heard Randle does have a rocket and is pretty nimble. No idea about his accuracy or decision making. But those can definitely be worked on if they are what is keeping him behind Rivers.
