Right on!!! YPC says it all. In two games last year VS LSU Lacy didn't hit for 4 YPC.

While that is an impressive stat, a lot of that can also be attributed to Ingram, Richardson and the Bama offensive line wearing down defenses.

I'm not sure that you're entirely correct.

Here's Lacy's production by quarter last season.

1st Quarter: 18 rushes, 2 receptions
2nd Quarter: 32 rushes, 3 receptions
3rd Quarter: 24 rushes, 6 receptions
4th Quarter: 21 rushes, 0 receptions

Lacy didn't play against Vandy.

Looks like his carries were against pretty fresh defenses, IMO.

Don't forget the Miss. St. game and LSU games where he was in during the 4th become Richardson had just come out for good.

1) I just noticed I spelt it Lacey and not Lacy in that post.

2) Best O-Line, and his competition is Davis and Lattimore. Both are better, but we don't know if the injuries hurt their play by a lot, a little, or barely any.

Even though Yeldon is a true freshman, I think he will shock some fans. He is better than Lacey.

I agree, but T-Rich was better than Ingram. I thought that, I don't know if Saban did, in 2009, and Ingram still had enough carries to get 1600+ yards.

I think Ford's numbers from the first game look good because of the option, but if you combine the two games, well actually I am interested in how we did against them. I'm going to look that up.

Speaking from experience, Sababn is going to do what Saban wants to do. He did this with Marcus Randell

Alfred Blue - No carries in the first game, no carries in the second game. 1 Reception in the second game for -3 yards.

Spencer Ware - 16 carries for 29 yards in the first game, 3 carries for 7 yards in the second game. All together he had 19 carries for 36 yards, which is 1.9 YPC. He had 1 reception in the second game go for -2 yards.

Michael Ford - 11 carries for 72 yards (don't get carried away, we didn't prepare for the option, most of those yards, not all of them, were option runs.), and in the second game he had 4 carries for 1 yard. Together he had 15 carries for 73 yards, which is 4.9 YPC.

Kenny Hilliard - 2 carries for 2 yards in the first game, and 5 carries for 16 yards in the second game. Together he had 7 carries for 18 yards, which is 2.6 YPC.

True, but I don't see Lacy not getting at least 230 carries. I mean, in short yardage situations, while Lacy can power his way through defenses, we'll probably use Fowler so all of his carries are not in garbage time, and on 3rd and like 5-7 we'll likely use Yeldon out of the back field, and longer 3rd downs will use Hart out of the back field.

I think Yeldon gets like 130 carries, Fowler gets more carries than Hart, but only because of Dee's stature, as Hart will get plenty of receptions, I say Fowler gets like 70 something and Hart gets 40 something. No idea though, we have to wait and see. McCarron is gonna throw the ball like 340 times. (I think he threw it 310ish last year, I could check.)

Got to like the upside to Yeldon more than Lacy. I am sure Saban will be watching these guys close. I would bet Yeldon gets a lot of early carries and he will use Lacy more once lead is in place
