Do you have a reputable source for what Saban supposedly said in your sig?
No, because Coach Saban didn't say it. Some of the LSU players did in fact say it, at least in local interviews, before the 2003 BCS CG.

Texas A&M set a high bar by actually including their little brother syndrome in their fight song.

In all their talk about tradition and The Grove and how they put down Miss. St. every chance they get because they won something 50 years ago. It is there. You have to be from Mississippi to see it though.
Like I said, when the big kids show up, they run off and aren't stupid enough to go public with it. But, they try to put down State every chance they get with what happened in the 50's and 60's.
It's pathetic.
We don't say shite about Mississippi State in the 50s and 60s. We just think we're better than them in general and they literally spawned due to the hatred of Ole Miss, which puts them big in the Little Brother syndrome from the start. Off the top of your head, name one famous MSU alumni that isn't involved in sports? Bet you can name a few Ole Miss grads though.

Most of the OM posters from the 08-09 era are gone but that was a pretty terrible lot of posters. They made Bundy look objective during the magical Cotton Bowl rides.
Oh the good old days of Wildrebeltime. He was a truly awful poster.

I feel like if we ever get back to national relevance our fan base is going to be quite unbearable.

Of course it will be. I will admit I was being a little douche around these parts in 09 drinking up the Koolaid, thinking we were going to beat Bama. I think the Bama game is the most pissed off I've been at a game.... I don't remember much of it though fortunately.

This has to be bullshite right. There's no way they're that insecure, right? Please tell me this is bullshite.

Well then that's just fricking stupid. Why not market yourselves as being better than your in-state rival? Convincing people that you are more desirable than the alternative...that's marketing.
Because beating our rival is not THE goal of the season, its A goal. THE Goal is having a winning record (especially this season), getting to Atlanta and winning a national championship. There's no way that the later two are going to be happening in the foreseeable future, but we at least aim higher than beating our rival. As a whole, that seems to be the only thing your fanbase cares about.

I don't give a frick about that. But acting like the billboards aren't good marketing is just stupid.
To your own fanbase maybe, but to other fanbases, its hilarious and makes you look like an even bigger joke than our team is at this point.

When everyone from around the country looks at Mississippi the first college they think of is Ole Miss (for multiple reasons).
Racial tension?
Or the fact that Mississippi State is completely irrelevant in pretty much... everything. I've literally talked to dozens of people who think that Mississippi State is Ole Miss' official name, and trust me they all know about the tailgating and some of the history behind the school.

Alabama still sings about Georgia Tech 50 years after they left the SEC. Continue to talk shite about fight songs while hoping against all hope that our mediocre Big 12 squad doesn't run the score up against you this fall

Alabama and Auburn are pretty fricking even in my book, in my lifetime anyway. Auburn got the best of Alabama in the 80's. Alabama dominated early in the 90's but the series went back and fourth in the mid 90's. The latter years of the 90's favored Bama but then Auburn reeled off 6 wins in a row from 2002-2007. Alabama won it all in 2009 but Auburn responded in 2010. Alabama ended up winning it all last year, so they aren't the little brother right now.
edit: oops Bama won the title in 1992. Auburn went undefeated in 1993 but they were on probation.

Well, I hope not either. I'll be back for that game (only game I'll be able to make it) to where we'll all be hospitable to yall since its yalls first visit to the Grove, and we won't hold your male cheerleaders and crappy fight song against you.
