I don't think VT should be allowed in the top 10 anymore. They consistently fall short in their big games. It's only a matter of time before they lose this year to some nobody.

And if you're saying that you would rank the top teams in college football, and put Boise in the top 3? Because they beat Georgia?

I think it should look a lot closer to this:

LSU
Oklahoma
Alabama
Florida State
Wisconsin
Stanford
Arkansas
Texas A&M
USC
OK State

Sorry if this has been posted already. What is your top 10, not how you feel the ap or coaches poll will be.

My top 10
1. LSU
2. Alabama
3. Boise
4. Oklahoma
5. Stanford
6. FSU
7. Nebraska
8. Ohio State
9. VT
10. A&M

I wouldn't put Boise up that high because they play nobody worth a damn the rest of the season so you put the BCS system in the uncomfortable position of having to decrease the ranking of a team that has not lost a game. They were ranked #5 going into the UGA game and looked good so I would probably bump them up one spot and hope we have 2 other undefeated teams with tougher schedules by the end of the season.

My top 10
1. LSU
2. Alabama
3. Oklahoma
4. Boise St.
5. FSU
6. Stanford
7. Nebraska
8. Ohio State
9. VT
10. Arkansas

Oklahoma - did nothing to lose their spot
Bama - same as Oklahoma
LSU - they'll be in the top 2 at some point down the road
Boise - hard for them to jump anybody at this point
FSU - no reason to move ahead higher
Stanford - looked good, could eventually jump higher with continued success
TAMU - most likely will not last
Nebraska - lets see what they look like vs. a FBS team
Okie St. - giving up 34 points to ULL could be a sign of things to come for them

**I don't think you can put LSU in the top 2 after one week. If Bama looks weak vs. Penn State, then I will be all for LSU jumping them. Realistically this will all be ironed out on Nov. 5, but for now it does make for good conversation.

Whisky needs a D like LSU needs an O. Nevertheless, I think their upside on D is greater than that of LSU on O.

Whisky gets this, they are the best team in the land.

That's completely irrelevant. If your assumption is that LSU should be higher because they beat a Top 5 program, then your logic says that Oregon wasn't really a Top 5 program - THUS, what has LSU or any other program done to deserve their spot? Going by the system in place, Oklahoma and Bama were given top billing and haven't shown any reason to take that away from them. The season will sort it out.

Bama is my #1 but that's more so out of respect.

LSU, my #2, has every right to the #1 spot though.

I also like Wisconsin, a lot. They are somewhere in my Top 10. Arkansas is just on the outside looking in.

No it's not.

Going by the system in place, LSU had the much more impressive first week of the season. Therefore, they should be ranked above both Oklahoma and Alabama.
Neither Oklahoma, nor Alabama has beaten anyone yet that is considered to be one of the top teams in the country. Based on that, LSU should be ranked above them.

In any case, I'm of the opinion that polls shouldn't be released until at least the fourth game of the season, if not after that.

Of course it will.

BTW, I, honestly, don't give a shite where we're ranked because like you said, the season will sort it out.

Oklahoma, Bama, and LSU were arbitrarily ordered going into the season and LSU dominated the other top 4 team. It really defys logic to stick to arbitrary rankings when one team has already proved something so far. This is exactly why preseason rankings can be so stupid there is no reason Oklahoma and especially Bama should stay so high up.
