whoever Arkansas' track coach is
That would be John McDonnell... he's retired now, though.

McDonnell's 42 national championships (which include 19 in indoor track, 12 in outdoor track and 11 in cross country) are more than any coach in any sport in the history of college athletics.

based on what?
2008-09 Men's Basketball Attendance Rankings:
1. Syracuse
2. Kentucky
3. Tennessee
4. North Carolina
Pearl has outrecruited Johnson every year they've both been at BCS schools. (including Johnson's years at Stanford)
As far as not wanting him near your program; I could care less, all I care about is the coach with more NCAA tourney wins, better win %, and better promoter.

yeah thats fair. Trent had to get guys who were semi-intelligent while Pearl could make do with the Crews' and Chism's of the world.
I'll go by championships and they have the same amount of SEC titles and Johnson did it in less years obviously. Pearl IMO isn't a very good tournament coach either judging by what they've done in the SEC and NCAA. They got a couple high seeds they didn't deserve.

So if you win games @ Xavier (Elite 8), @ W. Kentucky (Sweet 16), vs. West Virginia (Elite 8), @ Gonzaga (NCAA Tourney), @ Memphis (NCAA Runner Up), vs. Ohio State (NIT Finals), along with games against Texas (Elite 8), and the entire SEC schedule and go 30-4 you don't deserve a high seed? We don't play the traditional Trent Johnson games (SE La. St.) but I'd say the No. 1 RPI and SOS equates to a high seed.

WTF? How can you leave off Summitt? Another is Diaz, UGAs Tennis Coach
quote:
Diaz holds an impressive career record of 488-100 (.830) in his 21 seasons. In addition to his four NCAA Championships, his teams have reached the NCAA finals seven other times: 1989, 1991, 1993, 1997, 1998, 2002, and 2006. In addition, they have reached the semifinals twice and quarterfinals five times.

If your going by "regardless of sport" then you have to include Pat Summit.

It's pretty close, fwiw UT averages more people at a Womens BBall game that Ark and LSU get at a home bball game, COMBINED.

so basically you think LSU gets fricked in every NCAA tourney with its seed. noted.
Posted on 6/9/09 at 2:37 pm to Elleshoe
I would put Miles ahead of Saban. Miles has accomplished more than Saban has. Miles has a better record.
