I think Cristobal likes being big fish in a small pond out west. Napier must be holding out for Bama bc he had several offers last season

I'd like to see him sustain at Oregon a few more years, but I think I'd be pretty happy with that.

I think we should wait and see how it looks before we predict how the next 6 years will go.

I'm just saying the next guaranteed matchup in the current rotation wouldn't be for 6 more years. It's hard to assume they will play each other in the SECCG, so I can only really use the games that will 100% be on the schedule. I don't personally believe UGA will beat Alabama in the regular season next year. Another issue is that I don't see Saban coaching another 6 years after 2020 to get to that next regualar season game between the two schools, so this could possibly be the last time Saban coaches against Kirby.

I feel like I may be in the minority, but I just don't see Saban hanging it up any time soon. I think he's got 5-8 years left fairly easily.

I mean who knows, he may build something that he wants to sustain, but he's been in the East his entire life. He loves recruiting and is as good as anyone at it and he loves Saban. I could see him wanting to take the reigns and could see Saban push for him.

Like most of these guys, it really all depends on timeline of Saban leaving. Whether it's 2021 or 2026 makes a huge difference.

I was pretty surprised he didn't want the State gig, but my guess is he's gotten similar advice that Kirby and some others got: trust yourself, keep doing your thing and wait for the right opportunity. Because picking the wrong one will set you back a decade or forever. And of now, if he stays at ULL and wins 11 games next year he'll be right back out there as one of the hot G5 coaching names.

Bunch of rumors going around that we're gonna go after Urban first.

Apparently Paul Jr. loves him.

I get slammed by alums around here saying that Napier or Cristobal will be Nick's replacement.

They're all in on Dabo and Pruitt.

I'm in on Cristobal. The regents seem to favor him.

Also, Dabo Swinney left too much baggage at Bama. Never will be the coach of the TIDE! Thank goodness!

If you put a gun to my head right now I'd say the next guy is Mario Cristobal.

Oregon is starting to give me Clemson vibes. They're recruiting like an SEC school right now, and the other PAC 12 teams (horrible like the ACC outside of Clemson) will not be prepared to deal with it. Gone are the days of the soft Chip Kelly Oregon teams. I think Cristobal is about to start running the show in the PAC 12. Similar to Dabo, he may not have much reason to go to Bama.

He's built a program in his image up there and he is recruiting like he's always recruited. They aren't quite there yet but they certainly are building a roster that will run roughshod over most of that league, especially now that Peterson is gone at Washington.

Like I said, timing on Saban leaving is everything. You can't even really put together a semi-serious list of guys without it.

I'm perplexed by the love he's getting. I'm not saying he's a terrible coach. However, I'm unsure why everyone is looking past his losses to GA ST and BYU.

I think it's how the team responded and played thereafter when a lot of teams would have quit after those two losses to start the season. I thought for the first time a long time TN started playing like a legit SEC defense. It's a very different feeling than when Butch was coach.

They'll be hell on wheels on defense, probably starting next season and certainly in 2021.

I still question their offense. It was bad last year, and that was with 2 very solid senior SEC wide receivers. And for all the talk of their OL, they were near the bottom of the SEC in rushing efficiency - even during their better play against worse teams late in the year. They only cracked 4+ YPA rushing 4 times all year: BYU, Chattanooga, Miss St and Vanderbilt. That's not good. At all.

Against the Top 6 defenses in the SEC they were almost completely shut down.

- Florida: 239 yards, 4.4 YPP, 3 pts
- Georgia: 343 yards, 5.5 YPP, 14 pts
- Alabama: 231 yards, 3.8 YPP, 13 pts

Yeah their OL was dreadful. For as average as JG is as a QB, his OL did him no favors and he took beatings few QBs could sustain for an entire season. I have to give him props for being tough.

Absolutely - that kid has been totally pummeled for 3 years there.
