This is going to sound CRAZY but RR doesn't scare me that much. If Dre just plays smart football I can see him keeping RR in check. He kills teams by getting behind them on PA but Dre HAS to know that it'l be coming at some point. Randle doesn't seem like a big play guy if he catches the ball in front of the D. Whoever Milliner is matched up on scares the shite outta me.

Randle is big and physical and will catch his fair share on Dre. He may burn him once. I think a majority of RRs plays will come on zone coverage, though.

Special Teams.

Interestingly, LSU has a massive advantage in this category.

Just wondering which matchup's everyone sees playing a role in the game.

For our D against your O, I think the biggest match-up is our LB's and run support safeties (Taylor and Loston) coming up and helping out against the run. When teams have run against us with any success at all it's been through the A and B gaps, not really anywhere else. If Baker and Francois at LB (as well as Minter who's seen a lot more PT lately) and Taylor, Loston and Reid can't come up and make tackles we could be in trouble.

special teams will be huge, IMO

Wing is certainly strong enough for people to look at the match-ups of ST and thing we have a huge advantage, and as far as punting goes we do. However, I think Maze is much more of a big play returner on punts versus Mathieu who has been more of a ball security returner thus far. And, luckily it's gone unnoticed so far this year, but there has been a time or too when I've thought we out punted out coverage.

He's much more of a possession receiver by nature versus being a home run hitter deep. It's just that lately that's what the defense has given us and we've taken it.

As far as making a play after he catches it in front of you, I've rarely seen the first defender take him down one on one. He's deceptively slippery, and you must have players swarm to ball, which I'm sure Alabama will.

That is exactly my thinking. Not to bring up the past but Julio could score from anywhere on the field. Randle will kill you over the top, if you let him. LSUs other WRs can make shite happen on any givin play.

Bama won't run as well as they think. They had 102 yards rushing last year with Ingram and Trent.

Question: say LSU beats Bama, then Bama wins out - Arkansas wins out beating LSU - LSU only loss is to Arkansas - who goes to Atlanta with 3 Teams with 1 sec loss?

I would like to thank everyone who has participated in this thread for making it a small haven of civil sanity in a forum that has gone bat shite insane (or, rather, even more so) over the past couple of days.

Serious question, Im assuming it would go to the team that is ranked lowest - but say #1 LSU beats #2Alabama, I dont see them dropping lower than 5 or 6, so Arkansas jumps Bama in the polls by beating LSU?

Haha I can't stand it either. Talking football is fun and passes the time until the big game. Arguing who's coach could beat up who's is annoying and tiring. I haven't been this excited over too many games in my lifetime, no need to spend the time getting in fights over the teams playing.

edited cuz I didn't read OP

figured it was the same ole thing with a different title

Swagpatrick can't contain RR

the other guys can't contain ODBJr

TR will get the only Bama TD

AJ will get broke in half by our DEs meeting at the QB

We might see a backup QB enter the game

.......that was somewhat pointless. Both teams have scored enough points to win their games so far.

I am more worried about home cooking and Alabama's 12 man--the officials. They always have a game changing bad call in store for LSU. If I was Les I would certainly be ready to call them out. It would really suck to have an epic game ruined by shitty SEC officials.

I doubt the officials want their game deciding frick up played over and over on national tv, but you never know

You beat me to it. I was just about to say how awesome it is to talk about the 2 teams and the game with mostly objective fans from each of the 2 fanbases.

Not only is it fun, but IMO this game is just too big to demean it by doing the same ol' weak flame attempts and pissing contests.

Hillard or ware at tailback with copeland or stampley leading is pretty stout. We will Definetley have to use our fullbacks if we are going to have any success against those freak lber's
