That Sunday school teacher has the same amount of top 10's and 5's as Saban in 5 less seasons.

FWIW- I actually like Georgia and Richt. I just don't understand his perceived job security having not done more with all the talent he has.

great man, and he brought us back to the top. but he won't fire his buddies or keep up with the times and honestly its led to his demise. he had this year to pull some magic out of his arse or he's toast

Compare Richt's first four years to Nick Saban's first four years at Alabama. In his first four years, Mark Richt had a record of 42 wins and 10 losses. Nick Saban, in his first four years at Alabama, had 43 wins and 11 losses. Both men had one SEC Championship during that time.
Saban did when a national championship. However, Mark Richt was one dropped pass away during the 2002-2003 season. Terrance Edwards dropped a wide open pass that would have given UGA the win versus Florida and a chance to play for the BCS National Championship. The point being, he called the right play to get Edwards 15 yards open, the player just didn't execute. Alabama, was one Terrance Cody finger tip away from the same fate.
The point is, the only difference in Richt's first four seasons and Saban's first four seasons is one play. Not to mention, Richt won another SECC in his 5th season. The bottom line is that Richt has the fourth highest winning percentage of active coaches despite playing in the nations toughest conference

Again, great guy with a good overall record. But guess what...Now even Chizik is one up on him.

That's awesome about Richt...too bad it's not 2002 anymore.

shoulda woulda coulda mark had his chances and yet no titles. you make a good argument but it is about the hardware.
2007 if he doesn't shite the bed vs crackolina or utk we could very well win it all
2008 was his downfall
2009 and 2010 showed the game has passed him and he wouldn't fire assistants until told too
there are many years where he could have won titles. but he didn't he can't win that one big game. our teams are typically undisciplined, weaker, and just not poised. he has one year to show he turned it around and i would LOVE to eat my words on him. i really would. but i think this is richts last year

yeah....yeah. We got hit hard by several crucial early entries to the draft and had two bad seasons. The fact remains UGA had not won a SECC in 20 years before he came. In the last 10 years we have won 2 SECC and won/shared 4 SECE championships.

all great except it was all before the 2006 season. the new guys chizik, meyer, saban, and even now spurrier passed him. he refused to change

Only an idiot would say the game passed him by because of 2 bad seasons in the SEC. Show me one coach with 10 straight seasons at a school who doesn't have a bad year.

You're missing the point.

Don't act like Richt hasn't whipped Saban and Spurrier before. GC????? Please.
