Keep in mind that was one poster. So,lets keep those "LSU fans saying they'll win by 40" posts in check for Alabama fans on Alabama boards.
To answer you question, I would have to say it was back in the 1900's-1910 that Alabama lost that badly.Auburn won 40-0 in 1957 and Arkansas won 42-6 in 1998. I know Vanderbilt won one time 78-0.
I'll say this, whereas I'd be surprised if we win by 21+, I would say the odds were much more in favor of Virginia Tech not losing 48-7 last year than vs Alabama this year.

Correct, my bad. I can't expect you to view me as a normal idiot gump not lumped in with the retarded ones if I don't do the same for you, sorry.

Somewhat agreed and point taken. Odds are just that though, odds. I think that by the time this game takes place things may be a little different. RTR.

I'd be more shocked than you if LSU won 48-7. Even in 1982 and 2001 where on the field LSU dominated Alabama, the final score was pretty respectable.
With all of that said, have you ever looked at Saban's losses at Michigan State and LSU ? Really odd. The man doesn't lose very often, but when he does, holy smokes.Huge losses. That was one thing Alabama avoided in year one, which was good for you since the man's career track is so uncanny. You got the big upset (at least in how bad the margin was)-- Tennessee, the big upset loss (Monroe) and the how the hell did this happen close win that should have been a rout (Houston) that happened at his other stops.
But,you avoided the 24 pt + loss.

I'd say it was bound to happen eventually.

KP.... Yes I have been on vacation.
On this:
<<About the 48-7 or worse Blood bath being predicted, anyone on this board tell me when was the last time Bama was beaten this badly...I don't want to hear any of the "It could of been worse but we pulled the dogs off" crap either. IF it could have been it should have been. In recent memory, the worst defeat Bama has had was the Iron Bowl '05 and even then the score wasn't that bad(I might let this one slide for the could have been speech. It was brutal.).
Interesting.
On topic...my "speeches" are made to open your eyes to reality. I don't need a "speech" to speak to a Florida fan, or a Georgia fan. You see, it takes a "speech" for many bubbagumps to fully comprehend what I said.
Once again you missed the point.
I never stated LSU was 40 points better than bama. I specifically stated that on this upcoming November night, with all the factors, LSU is going to destroy Alabama.
Bama simply does not match up to LSU. Go ahead and review the lineups and get back to me when you have a better understanding of college football.
-----------------
A little bit more:
<<I will go ahead and tell you, you will only find a handful that have been that bad over the last 25 years. If it happens in Death Valley this year, BT4 I hold you personally responsible to save this post so that I can come in, eat crow, congratulate you and bow to the present superiority of the LSU Tigers>>
Get ready to bow then.
Better yet, just come over here and admit it. This ia a totally useless diatribe at this point. Bama fans are beginning to bore me to tears. I have openly invited any Bama fan to look at the matchups and tell me how, knowing the disparity, knowing the emotional night as 11-8 will be, how Bama is going to even keep it close.
Let the teams play, and you'll know your role then. Just remember, I told you many, MANY
months before what was going to happen.
Back to the vacation.

I am game to look at the matchups with you. However, instead of looking at our receivers against your cb's etc, I am looking at each position. I am not familiar enough with LSU's lineup to speak intelligently about it. Not skeered though...so here we go.
QB's
Clear advantage to Bama. Wilson will break every passing record at the capstone this year and to say for one second you would prefer a Harvard transfer (Not saying he or Lee won't be good, but let's be real here) to a 3 year starter, NO MATTER his issues, is crazy.
RB's
Advantage LSU. Keep in mind though that while LSU is LOADED at rb, Bama is not that bad. Grant was injured half the year and still managed near 1000 yards, which leads me to....
O-Line
This is a push. Both lines have All-SEC/All-American type players.
Wide Receivers
Adavantage LSU. Again loaded but I will be a homer and say we have some excellent returning players and potentially good incoming ones that, imo, make this one closer than you think.
D-Line
Clear Advantage LSU. With our talented but unproven D-Line and the fact that Mt. Cody can only take up a couple of guys LSU is clear winner here.
LB's
Advantage LSU. We do, however, have an All-SEC guy anchoring this squad, and if Hall does indeed come back, which looks like he will, advantage is not quite as big, imo.
CB's and DB's
Push imo. Rashad Johnson is one of the SEC's best DB's as is Jackson on the corner. Again, LSU is loaded but I think the loss of the likes of Steltz is going to hurt.
Special Teams
I think Bama has you here. While our punter is not great, our place kicker is a very good returning starter (David is gone right?), Arenas is one of the best, if not the best in the league at returning kicks.
So that puts us at LSU-4 Bama-2 Push-2. So, why would I not think this will be a blowout? Well there have been games when it was LSU-99999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999 Bama-0 in Death Valley and it was not (2004 comes to mind. I still can't believe the lack of talent we had then.). Secondly, was the game a good one last year? I thought it was. We have more expereince and more talent than last year, as does LSU. I guess you are going to say that your incoming talent is better than ours but that is subjective at this point. To me, the three most critical things in determining who wins is 1. QB (Field general and this is not debatable on the importance of this position) 2. The lines (Your D-Lines is one of the best in the SEC. Good thing our O-Line is too.) 3. Special Teams (The swings can be game changing.)
Ok, Master Debater, bring on the bold print.
