If jimbo wants a chance to win the SEC he needs to fix A&Ms defense.

In all seriousness, I think this is the key for them. They just seem generally soft as a program. Establishing a solid, hard nosed defense is the way to establish that.

Also, I'll add that I didn't like the way he left, or quit on, and then left, FSU.

The fans had a big part in his leaving. I work down here in Tally, and Jimbo couldn't even go get a cold beer without some fan harassing him in public, or some fan challenging him from the stands after games. He also had that nasty divorce. Bottom line is, he needed a fresh start somewhere else to get away from all the bullshite that was going on in Tallahassee.

He did have alot going on in his personal life in a negative way. Have family in the know at FSU. He had a wife that was humpin Gator football player, his son diagnosed with something that will lead to death around 30.
I think that lead to him making some bone headed decisions football wise. His offense became unorganized and from what I heard and saw, the Defensive Coordinator after Pruitt was a real dud!
Freah start for Jimbo and FSU may hve been good for all concerned.

His offensive line coach and offensive line recruiting was also a big factor in FSU's downfall. It got so bad that the locals down here were calling FSU False Start University.

Buy LSU a Father's Day gift next June, as is customary.

Jimbo turned EJ Manuel and Christian Ponder into first round picks. Enough said.

I’d give him a few years, but A&M should always be gunning for top 3 in the West.

Alabama: Lord Saban is vulnerable in the regular season. But may sneak his way into the playoff/top bowl regardless.

Auburn: They’ve always been Jekyll and Hide. Either really good or really bad. We have an interesting series as the away team generally wins.

LSU: Shrimp boat captain. But in all seriousness I really don’t think hes good. And he’s shown not to switch it up on offense. He got rid of Canada and promoted Ensminger. LSU will be scary if they get a solid coach.

Arkansas/Ole Miss/ Miss State: Decent coaches but I don’t think they will have the talent/facilities to keep up in the future.

Am I wrong in getting the feeling that he'll fall well short of that in his tenure?

No. I agree. I think A&M bought a bag of goods
