So sudden and the Carolina program was riding high. Shortly after, they were downright horrible. It was before message boards, so any older Carolina fans remember the feeling?

There was a lot going on.

Sports Illustrated came out with the Tommy Chaiken article about steroid abuse ... Tommy was a pussy.

A lot of pressure was coming down on Joe Mo because he let his players run wild.

Joe had a girlfriend he kept away from his wife, a girlfriend who had a daughter belonging to Joe.

Joe was a heavy smoker. The day he died he was playing racket ball on a court next to where my oldest brother was playing, same building. They both had heart attacks within an hour of each other. Joe insisted on taking a shower first, before going to the hospital, Andy he died in the shower.

My brother was playing with his doctor buddy and they went straight to Providence Hospital ... he had a quintuple bypass and is still alive today.

Recruiting class collapsed immediately afterwards ... we lost a few future All-Americans. That hurt.

Fans were pissed at President and AD. We protested with our wallets.

Clemson (Danny Ford) continued to cheat his arse off and was on probation three years later then fired ... but he did damage to us before he left and Ken Hatfield did the same.

It was all fricked-up for awhile.

Paul Deitzel came down from Boone to offer some guidance and, once again, he got us back on track as a consultant and got us steered toward his original goal of being accepted into the SEC.

Tough times but we made it. Got rid of the University President and AD and made some good hires there that got things cleaned up.

It worked out okay but there were tough times after Joe Mo died. He was loved by our fan base ... The Man in Black.

Shock.. Disbelief... conspiracy theories about a murder still to this day or faked his death to avoid going to jail on indecent exposure charges in Miami

What was the deal with Jim Carlen?

Someone that I went to HS with jumped em after the FSU game in '79 because his brother never got a fair shake from em and said some horrible things about em

I heard Carlin was an extreme dirtbag
