After Muschamp, I see DC hires as pretty risky ones. Smart was always going to be an HC but if I were UGA, I would rather have gotten him after he coached a year or two as an HC.
That said, UGA has been running a similar pro-style offense to be BAMA and is also a run heavy team so that should ease some transition. He really does need to hire an OC he trusts, imo.

If Muschamp continues the trend of improving AUs Defense next year, but the Offense remains a trainwreck, he will be the next HC at AU. If he leaves, AU would never hire him.
