Public U that is a historic bottom dweller with occasional (very occasional) success but the available resources to make a huge, quick leap?

Vandy has some similarities, but not a Public U.

MSU meets the 1st criteria, but not the second.

USCe?

Kentucky. Like Indiana, they're a basketball blue blood. Their success on the basketball recruiting trail and the fact that they're the flagship school of their state shows me they could be successful in football if they put their mind to it.

Doesn't Auburn fit this description?

Usce has always been a football first university tho. Not sec but uva seems really similar. Big state public u. Rich alums. Both dominated in football by non flagship in state schools that care more about football(vt,nd). Both have historically good bball programs.

Kentucky fit that prompt. Missouri has a ton more past relevant seasons
