With Osborne stepping down at Nebreska, Bo Pellini may be on his way out. Would anybody take a chance on him?

No, his angry antics wouldn't fly in the SEC. He makes Franklin and Boom look like Mister Rogers and Stuart Smalley.

Bo is a heart attack waiting to happen. I wouldn't.

I'm thinking he would make a good D coordinator for a first time coach with an offensive background

Do, please, hire Dabo in Athens. Would be legendary... for USC.

Bobby Petrino would be dangerous if he could get hired by a top tier program.
Maybe for a few years, then it would be Arkansas and Louisville part 3.

How Butch Davis has avoided receiving a Show Cause will always remain a mystery to me.
They FOI'd the hell out of Davis, and they found nothing. Either he had nothing to do with, or he is the master of coverup.

How many 1st round picks did he have at UNC and what do they have to show for it?
They would have done major things back in '10 if all those players didn't get suspended. They had a good year considering. They almost beat LSU with a 2nd string D on the field.

I'm gonna go with master of the cover-up. The same thing happened at Miami. Nothing was ever connected to Davis but as soon as he left the bottom fell out.
He is a high risk/high reward coach. I don't see why Arky wouldn't give him a try? What do they have to lose at this point?

He's a hot name around here.
But every Arkansas boy who is a coach is talked about when the job is open.

Petrino's reputation wasn't pure when they hired him. After the way it ended, no way they hire someone with any kind of tarnish. They will get someone with a squeaky clean record.
Butch is not an option. For this same reason, I say Holg (reputation as partier) isn't either.
Strong seems most likely, or someone more out of the blue.

Aside from the obvious names that have been mentioned ITT, who are some out of the blue coaches? There doesn't seem to be as much buzz as there has been in the past.
Todd Berry with ULM and Mark Anderson with Utah State are intriguing. Kirby Smart is always mentioned but I think he's waiting on Saban to retire. Chad Morris does not excite me. What under-the radar options are there?

I don't really know. That's why they're out of the blue. It seems there are often candidates that emerge that no one had ever thought of.
Surprised Pease hasn't been mentioned, though. What's the story on that?

Kyle Whittingham is an 'under the radar' name people talk about.

I don't know a whole lot about Pease but I think everyone is waiting until LSU v Fla before jumping on the Fla is back bandwagon. That will probably determine whether Pease becomes a hot commodity

Eta: none would dominate.......Saban's already here. Only relative cure for that is a mad man and we have him.
I do like the har bough idea

Utah hasn't gotten off to a good start in the PAC-12 so that may hurt his stock a bit

Chip Kelly reminds me a lot of Spurrier in the early 90's. Taking a program that had never done much and just dominating the conference.

Exactly. We've gotten off to good 4-0 starts the past 2 seasons too until we started playing real defenses.
