I don't really think I'm better than state fans, because you're right we come from the same towns. But I do think my school is better than yours.

I think the Ole Miss experience is "right" for me, just as I don't think it's "right" for some other people.
Also, it depends on what you want to study if you're going to talk about which school is better. A horseshite inspector from Ole Miss can't hold a candle to the same from Mississippi State.

Umm yeah you do. That's because it's your school.

It's good, but our ice cream is better
State actually makes really good ice cream. I've seen it in the MSU bakery, but nowhere else. Must not make that much of it. I've never seen anything written about it, either. I just like it.
I've seen references to LSU ice cream here before. I know Penn State makes awesome ice cream, and even sells it in a separate building in the middle of campus called The Creamery. Does LSU have a standalone ice cream place like that? Is LSU ice cream written about other than here? Pretty cool if it is.
P.S. I've also seen post on Penn State boards noting (or complaining) that too many PSU fans wear camo to games.

Of course, but it runs a little deeper when comparing it to state. See I don't really believe we're a better school than say bama or LSU, but I know we're better than state. It's just how I feel.

And I feel like you are the type of person that calls and yells at a Customer Service Rep when it's raining outside and your Directv isn't working. And I feel like you are the type of person who berates waiters because they didn't put enough avacadoes in your salad.
It's just how i feel.

Has anyone posted the "We drive tractors and they sue people" video that aired at the CWS afew years back?
That may lend to some national perception

As an academic (trust me on this), I can tell you that most state schools do pretty well in a few specialized areas and are simply mediocre at the rest.
The "big" state schools - Florida, Texas, Michigan, UCLA as well as UVA, UNC, UGA, and some others to a lesser extent - have the people and money to offer a lot more to their students. Schools like Ole Miss, State, LSU, Arkansas, Bama, South Carolina, and Tennessee can offer a lot to SOME students, but not most.
Take for example Ole Miss' Honors College and Croft Institutes. Both are highly respected in academic circles, but both programs are only available to less than 10% of the student body.
For Ole Miss, the international stuff, English, and pharmacology programs, as well as a few others, are top notch. Others (business, accounting) are good. Others are just, eh, so-so.
For State, you've got horsefricking (I kid, I kid), and whatever else TD's and Beer talked about earlier.
LSU you've got marine and environmental stuff.
Alabama has law.
Arkansas has got filing FOIA requests and pestering people over the internet.
Blablablabla. You see what I'm getting at? So, unless you're talking about a school with a shitload of money (Texas) or a school with an assload of awesome professors (Stanford), to say "well this school is better than that one" from an academic standpoint, you've gotta ask what it is exactly that you're looking to study.
Sorry to be all compromising and rational 'n' shite.

The experience is what I'm talking about. The academics are close enough to where its not worth arguing.

The experiences are apples to oranges I guess.

These threads are like watching a retard make fun of another retard for being retarded.
The Mississippis and their "I'm better than you...no you're not" contests definitely get the award for entertainment value.
