And we both know that 27, 46, and 68 are clown claims.

Edit: If you want to go the media guide route, GT claims 7.

We were undefeated in 1946, I wouldn't call that a clown claim

People here are either really young, or have extremely short memories.

Georgia Tech up until the mid-late 2000's was a perennial ACC contender, and under Gailey recruited BOSS players. Calvin Johnson? Demarius Thomas?

They play in Atlanta, Georgia. What a recruiting hotbed, and tool. If they played in the SEC, they'd be more than competitive, considering the advantages they would have gained. Whenever they ditch that crap offense of theirs, they'll do well.

Also, remind me UGA fans, who was the national champion in 1990? I was alive then, but wasn't alive when y'all won it. Was it Georgia Tech?

And Richt owned Gailey's forcing Tech to fire him.

Tech was doing good until Georgia rose to power

And GT went undefeated in 1952. Can't have it both ways.

And it IS a clown claim, there's a reason y'all don't do it officially.

I never said it was a bogus claim

I'm just saying that Georgia was still the superior program even before Tech left

Georgia Tech won the 1990 National Championship, and would have been the sole claimant if it weren't for the 5th down helping Colorado stay undefeated.

I actually used to pull for Georgia in the 1990's over Tech, but seeing Dawg fans when they were somewhat good in 2002 when visiting NOLA for the Sugar Bowl not only made me root against Georgia, but left a bad enough taste in my mouth to not attend school there when it came time to choose a college.

With that said, Athens is, and will always be, my favorite college town to visit.

Now I see why you made such a ridiculous statement

13-1 and #3 finish is somewhat good?

What would the make up of the conference look like today?

People can say what they want, I was born in 1949 I remember the antagonism between LSU and Tulane. I would rather play Tulane than some of the BS schools we have scheduled this year and not just us, every damn school.

When you go to Alabama, yes.

The Sugar Bowl for y'all that year was Mardi Gras. When we go, we don't even want to be there. Enjoy mediocrity.

If Bieman stays at Tulane, Minnesota never wins 3 MNC's and becomes a force in the B1G and nation. It was the fall of Minnesota that allowed Ohio State to grow after WWII.

Folks always forget the power of the private schools in the early days of college football. Most of the state schools did not gain power till after WWI and the GI Bill that would greatly expand the state schools populations.

Well if we're being honest, the SEC was weak that year.

There he goes with post bowl clown claims again. There needs to be a sticky about what pre and post season polls meant back then.
